Could you elaborate your distaste for royal road.
It's a hive of scum and villainy? Ok, seriously, RR is a UX horror show but that wouldn't be that bad... I am aware that commenters on RR harrassed A Real Goddess's author into putting it on hiatus... then Goddess Slayer Lynnette got pulled from public sites for the same reason.
I seem to recall reading that RR commenters can be pretty toxic on LGBT stories in general but I can't actually confirm that one.
Basically, it's a site with a reputation for considerably less friendly readers, deserved or not.

i started out in webnovel(as a reader)
Even worse place, honestly. I find it the combination of a pay per chapter model and the proliferation of sloppy filler chapters to be disgusting.
Charging readers for a story that wouldn't pass even the most basic of proofreading seems kinda bleh. Worse, it's easy enough to write enough good chapters to fill out the free reading chapters then lower the effort once readers have bought a couple dozen of the paid chapters. Yes, I have a specific example of a high 3-digit chapter novel that did exactly this.

What changed is the quote quality :blob_whistle:
Pretty sure it's when, not after, but more problematic is "fire nation's attacked" ... that's not grammar. :blob_teehee:

Now it says "Bad Gateway" to me.
It's prolly on the server, since this happened once a few months ago too. Either the codes deforms to pastas or there's an error between the server and the provider.

This is true, RR authors are good, but the community overall is toxic as hell. The thing about the LGBT is true as well.

Hell, I remember during the forums. How the mod was spewing a false narrative on the LGBT stuff, and twisting themselves in a knot to not have the tag.

My ratings also took a dive when I added in LGBT stuff, despite it actually having a powerful story like I usually do my stuff. Though, the reception on it was also taken extremely well.

On the forums as well, despite the community doing its best to keep the LGBT thread friendly, the mod still locked it. It was a friendly thread as well, which was being dragged down by homophobia but overall good.

To top it all off, malicious ratings are a thing there. And it has been happening more as of late. By this I mean, they go around just tanking everything with a 0.5.

My only beef with RR is that I need to get a ticket to delete a novel. There's this old fanfic that I wrote 8 years ago. Not very proud of it, but can't be bothered to deal with the mods.

Also, the site being down makes me glad I host my novel in a private server as well. I just wish I know how to tell my readers to go to my website.

You can provide a link in your author’s notes, telling them where your stuff is.

You could delete the novel yourself.
It just does nothing, as by posting you gave them permission to keep the copy forever.

It does help in cases where you want to recover an old story, they can find it.

I am the author of Reich Marshal and I can confidently say that I was hit with a 0.5 star rating a mere half an hour after posting the story on RR. Just because there's Yuri in it.

Though I am lucky to have some nice readers there to salvage it to nearly 4 stars. Still, nothing compared to Scribble or Webnovel. As for the big warning of not too many smut elements, I literally counter the RR team by throwing up great walls of text (actual serious chapters btw) between smut sections.

I remember the mod tried to argue that anything LGBT is sexual, or you should just put the romance tag or something. They were trying really hard to not add the tag.

Anyway yeah, been hit with 0.5’s because of that. Even though the first inclusion of Yuri is in Book 5. They went all the way to Book 7 cover page, and left a 0.5.

Book 5, they just left it on like the first part of it.?

That aside, Book 5, 6,7 which are Yuri are some of my most loved stuff. And in Book 8, 9 and post story. You see how the characters there are close friends to each other and the lead of the series.

I mean when it is up. ?
RR is down? Haven't had any problems at all with it. It's Scribblehub that keeps collapsing every 5-10 minutes and then staying down for 30 minutes or so before randomly reappearing. Fortunately, I read physical books even more than online material so it's not eating away at me too badly.
