Whats the difference between Reader and Views?

Can someone tell me whats the difference between for example 400 views and 50 readers.? does every chapter visit count as one view? or is it the amount of registered and guest readers?

Like name suggest, views are... Just views. A total number of people that viewed your story.
Readers are ones that actually read it; added to the "reading list" - works the same way for "dropped," "on hold" and other lists.

I've been wondering about that too. I wrote a fanfic piece, and it's got around 130 views but only one reader.
