You have the ability to travel a fixed amount of time between the past and present by inhabiting the past version of yourself. What’s your fixed length of time? What do you with your ability.

Once you decide how far you want to go back the first time, you’ll only ever be able to travel across that length of time.

Once you return to the future, any circumstances you were involved in will be left for your past self to deal with. They will possess a vague recollection of what you did but feel detached from it.

If you noticed, then yes this is based on Takemichi’s time leap.

Chose Other for Fortnights. That way I still have time to fix anything I might have did wrong. If I choose a month I'll probably forget about it :blobtaco:

What's stopping you from going back, then going back again?

Time travel to the past are only for weak! Learn from your regrets, not look back at them every time you sleep. What you should do is look ahead in the future, which is much grimmer and wallow in the despair that the present you is struggling to change that fate no matter how futile it seemed.

Everything that happened while I was alive is the result of something that pre-dates my birth, so I wouldn't, as there's not much I can do.

I'd love to go back to my teenage self to fix the biggest series of mistakes I ever made: going to university instead of looking for traineeship or employment.

Unless you get to learn stuff you want to learn or need to learn for your dream job university is actually a pretty big money sink here in Germany since you get more growth opportunities and chances in employment than you'd get with a bachelor. Unless you're doing high-end stuff like doctors or lawyers, where university is mandatory. And you get paid for actually doing less than when you're studying at uni (courses you'd need to advance your portfolio/job evolution included).

Months sound good because you aren't there so long that you become assimilated into your past self while also being able to change things. Though from a writing perspective, days at most.

Probably days or weeks as farther out your memory of events gets less exact. Unless, of course, there was a specific event I was looking to impact.
