So I was writing a prologue and I saw how I only have 1K words so I started adding details that were irrelevant. Should I instead keep it at 1k and just go on to the next chapter and try to keep a higher but not unreachable work count like 1.3k or 1.5k instead? or Should I have kept the word count massive?

So the Pace yourself is basically having a low first chapter word count but then making it higher in the next with each chapter having around the same.

Depends on what you consider normal.
I consider having like 1k word count normal ut most novels I like have over 1k word count. Actually reading your comment, I might go on the pace myself route as I don't want to make myself give up on writing. Of course, I still value other opinions

Oh when I started writing, half the chapter was only 570 words so I Will probably cut out the irrelevant stuff and continue writing. maybe add more to get a higher word count.

If you want more readers and gain popularity, you should also consider how often you would release chapters. For example, if you will write and publish one 1k word chapter a week, readers won't be happy. The opposite is also true. Seven chapters a week, with each chapter being more than 3-4k words, probably will tire people out.

2k words is a good average, for me at least. I prefer slow burns though, definitely only works cause I enjoy showing stuff in grave detail, though it does make it seem more like a slog if I go too hard into it.

I will probably do around 1k - 2k with chapters twice a week. I will need to store chapters in advance to make that possible so I guess my novel is releasing in 4 days instead of tomorrow. Thanks for the advice. I really was confused about what to do that I accidentally kept writing about an area that only will be visited once in too much detail.

I write 3k words on average. Instead of adding irrevelant details, you should further explain something after writing it down. For example:
The tax suddenly increased which caused the villagers to march down to the lord's mansion to complain. The monthly income of money for crops for the village plundered due to the fact that the tax was increased. The lord was ultimately chased away by the angry mob of villagers. This was why it was important to never raise the tax too high until a certain percentage each year otherwise you'll cause your reputation to take a nosedive and gain the hate from your people.
See what you can say out of your a$$ with one simple explanation?

Bro, you have just opened my mind. I will do that when I get to the actual chapters as I want the prologue to be the only resemblance to his ordinary life unlike a life as a dragon in dragonball.

Don't add irrelevant details. A first chapter is only as big as it needs to be, so if you add any additional information when editing, it should be things that have some relevance to the plot

I don't about you guys but for me, 2k to 2.5k is normal. I don't know why, I just like that length of it. It doesn't feel too short or too long.

Do what works for you. Some people like lots of details. Some authors find that they add irrelevant details that they can actually use later. Sometimes, those tiny details make great foreshadowing. Use your details carefully.
