What kind of story would you build around this?

I don’t usually work in concept art or character design. I paint what I feel and let the image evolve without much planning. I know they are not made for a novel or a comic, but looking at it now I feel like there’s a world hiding inside it. Anyone else here ever reverse-engineer?

I can only guess that it would be based in a story like Omori?

Though I can interpret it being that a girl who returned from the county and reunites with people, especially with an older woman who counsels her about the girl's past. Where she was slowly shedding the dark life living in the city and how it slowly corrupts her, her visions becoming more and more abstract as she recalls her life in the city. Until she either dies in peace or slowly builds up her confidence and strives to live again and forget the past.

Hmm, I'll add my one cents.

A physiological story on a girl who is metaphorically "lost", but in time, finds the remnants of what had once made her whole.

Could be a novel IMO ?‍♂️

Edit: How'd I find myself in the artists thread lmao

I feel like these would work well as the basis of a story ONLY IF you include Edvard Munch's "The Scream". Absolutely no idea what the story would be about, but the colors and styles feel vaguely cohesive.

First thought that sparked in my head was a horror story.

Like, there's a supernatural artist who sits in a park and paints people for free, but when they hang the painting in their house, it slowly takes them over and replaces them in the real world as a caricature of who they were. The protagonist is the artist, and their stealing people's emotions or humanity because they themselves are a painting-person?

Idk, but it's where my mind immediately wandered, lol

I know this might be a bit inappropiate, but this looks like if someone who was traumatised as a child tried to draw.
