i was advised the old thing of just Sitting Down And Forcing myself to write but also a nice jog around the neighbourhood was a ?way to get the mind cleared up, and my imagination really flourished by doing that.

now i can't really do it as i am bedridden trying to rework my shitty first 7 chapters but what are your More Experienced Writer's rituals?

I just do whatever chores I have left and force myself to write. After 500 words or so, writing just becomes natural somehow.

Alternatively...

-Go outside
-Burn and orphanage
-Sacrifice the orphans to a demon
-Revive the Soviet Union
-Kick a puppy (this is very important)
-Break into Elon Musk's house and leak all of SpaceX and Tesla's data on the internet
-Go back home
-Write

I have a new writing ritual, these days. I cycle for about 30 minutes on my fitness bicycle, and then read for about an hour, before beginning to write. Not only that, but I find the chapters just write themselves, after I am fully awake.

Sit down and write.
I usually find if I start writing, I keep writing.

Starting to write can be difficult, but that's why I've worked hard to get a routine going.

I'm new to writing, but I normally just look at AI generated pictures of the characters I have, that or I discuss ideas with friends of mine that have written and published before until I have a general grasp of what I'm aiming for, and just continue on that. Though after writing for a while you normally just have a flow you follow until you're stomped of ideas again

For me, whenever I start a story, I plan the entire thing from start to finish. Yes, I already know the ending of my work even before I wrote the first chapter.

When I laid the plans and settings down, I proceed with the details (writing). I usually give myself the 'three-four weeks' deadline the moment I drafted the first chapters to finish an entire volume/book. During this time, I refrain from watching anime, reading manga, or even playing games. I also try to write until I get to my 'writing mood', which is close to the advise to you, "sit down and write until you produced something".

After I finished writing and drawing the illustrations, I take a month or two break where I play, watch and read whatever I missed. This is also my time to do research on what my next volume's theme would be.

That way, I was able to write 14 books in the span of four years (2019-2022, not including two other stories I'm writing concurrently).

I play 4theWords, doing the daily fairy writing quest really helps me get started.

Sit in my bed, close my eyes, put on some environmental music, and think about a specific scene. After a few minutes, I wake up and start writing.

Works every time.

I just think, "If something doesn't work, just go back to something close enough, within my capabilities, that does," and start from there.
