MC is a Succubus who wants a harem of cute lewd horny girls, but while their power can certainly turn people into their horny thralls, and it is extremely potent and versatile, it only works on the opposite gender. To get around that, they come up with a way to imbue that power into physical items. Slave Collars. The intention being that she turns some guy into her thrall, and then they in turn, turn the opposite gender, girls, into her thralls by proxy using her "items"...

And everything works great...

Of course, in the end things go... wrong... or right? and the MC end up enslaved and brainwashed by their own toys...

two items but they're both cursed so hopefully it balances a bit;
1. a storage ring with theoretically unlimited space but you still feel the weight of the items
2. an adaptive/ shapeshifting axe that causes the user to become berserk when blood touches the blade
hopefully the limits make things a bit more interesting as my MC figures out how to work around or with the limits

It isn't quite an item per say, but my MC's ability to access the Eternal Library fits the bill. The EL is pretty much a massive stockpile of all known magic in the Overworld, for the most part as some techniques and spells have been hidden/kept from the Dragon Goddess Ferynith.

So if the MC needs a solution or finds himself in a pinch, he could theoretically run away to the Library and scour the shelves until he finds the perfect spell that fits what he needs. So long as he has the time to find the book, read/translate it, learn it, and be capable of utilizing it.

But will I, his almighty God, allow him to do so? Absolutely fucking not. Homeboy will lose his teeth before I let that happen. Sure, if it's minor magic he should obviously be capable of learning he will get it. But if he's in trouble he better figure it the hell out or I'ma clap his ass back to the stone age. The dice are not kind to the weak of heart

The ability to control technology anywhere, everywhere possible. The downside is this ability heats up the hardware because it can't handle the massive amount of data, but an upgrade or two will make this OP and bullshit in my setting of a nanite filled post-apocalypse world.

The ability to erase any physical things from existence. But he only sometimes uses it because literally everyone can make that ability useless by covering their body with even the thinnest layer of mana. So every fight is just the MC trying to disable their mana somehow, wear them out, or find that one single place on their body that their mana don't reach.

i dont want to write any deus ex machina, so i dont have anything overpowered like that. A MC should struggle. They should take the struggle bus to Strugglesville where they will struggle the rest of their wretched lives while struggling to raise 9 children with disabilities as a single parent.

Why have only one? I'm writing about steampunk wizard spies, my whole story is nothin' but BS items.

I'd have to say the biggest BS item of them all, though, is a machine that can create a portal, but it can only take you to someone you love, wherever they are, only if you really really love them, and only if you're holding something they made.

Also, this thread just gave me a breakthrough on something I was stuck on, so, many many thanks.

It's fine to have something OP your world so long as the world is capable of balancing it out.

I DO have one story I'm trying to write about a guy who gets super-powers like superman but uses it to kill a lot of people he views as corrupt.
The MC himself would basically be a walking deus ex machina.

Trying to come up with a proper antagonist for the story is challenging. I mean what can stand up to superman when there is no kryptonite?

I'm thinking lung cancer.
