First, it won't come to the time I have to divorce her, for I don't entertain mystery people. Likewise, I believe I won't have someone like that, nor do I have people that likes me 'romantically'.

I lean more on the traditional side of marriage and relationships. I prefer to get to know the person I want to be with my entire life, and decide for myself if I want her to be my wife, than get married quick, then find out that we really don't have feelings nor the patience to be with one another.

Second, let's say, for the sake of argument, the setting given by Ellie did happen to me. Well, I'm not one to spit out something the moment I realized I can't chew it. I'll try to work on fixing the relationship, because I believe that in choosing to have a family, it's not only my happiness that matters anymore.

And third, I have my own sources of money. She can keep hers.

Fourth, I want financial stability, but between riches and simplicity, I'd always choose the latter.

Well, you guys know I'm a teacher in public school, and I've been interacting with children since I started working in 2013.

I've encountered lots of children whose outlook in life were affected by their broken families. I've talked to numerous children with suicidal tendencies, or looking for validation from some people outside their homes, only to end up in danger. I even got close to one who keeps on looking for her mother, because she abandoned her to her abusive relatives when she was a baby.

Hence, I told myself, my family--if ever I will have one--won't be like that.

I would pick up smoking again and travel the world. Working in various tourist spots or work on a cruise ship

I'd close the book and throw it away. That's soap opera levels of bad writing...
Next you're gonna tell me we didn't actually divorce that person because they were replaced by their evil twin in an attempt to kill us so the twin has an excuse to steal the shares we would inherit from their cancer-ridden father that suddenky made a miraculous recovery but then cheats on his wife with the little sister of his nurse that just came to tell her sis that her grandfather, who was actually the fathers father, died on an exploding cruiseship, meaning the father did it with his own sister which results in a mafia-shoot-off since somehow the setting turned italian with nobody noticing.

Or something, I don't watch soap operas...

I'd never have married someone I didn't love or divorce someone I did love

the marriage vows typically are
"to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
till death us do part"
Or some variation of the above

And I take those things VERY seriously

Also who the heck would marry at complete total stranger?

This assumes that no-fault divorce is legal / moral. If there is no cheating / abuse then divorce should not be an option.

So I would say that casually breaking vows is a rather poor character trait.

How can I turn back time. That’s like regression? Man if I could turn back time I’d never get married in the first place, I’d buy all the stocks I know. Win the lottery, make business decisions and bring new technology to past to make make more money.

top 1%? Pfff I’d be the top “one”

Do I smell an opportunity?
At this point, I'd refuse anyone, even if it's a joke. My diabetes is getting worse, my eyes are getting weak and blurry. And I know my insides are in a worse condition than it was, pre-pandemic.

No one would like to pick someone to take care of. And likewise, I don't want to be a burden to anyone.

With how things are going, I'm aware I won't last long. Lol

While not a clear cut case that could certainly be litigated. In America at least, the letter of the law doesn’t translate perfectly to civil law suits. Civil court with a jury is as much about law is it is about empathy and emotion, and someone who pulled the wool over another’s eyes with a loveless marriage to ‘practice‘ life skills, is not a very sympathetic defendant.

Marriage is an agreement and contract. Someone who was hiding assets because of their family’s test, and actively forcing you to live below the means that they could provide for a partner? I’d sue them for a bunch of money, and win.
