I had to scrap a novel I have been writing for a month. So basically, goodbye 40 chapters (1300 words by average) and I gotta start over from scratch.

Then I wrote new chapters for another book. Expanded a skeletal outline for another book. And jot down concepts I dreamed about yesterday.

I wrote and edited 1,700 words before 1am, granted some of it was done the previous day. But I'm counting it all as of today.

Finally, one paid commission done and two more to go. I'm actually about halfway finished with the 2500 word one, but I'm staring at a 7,500-word commission that's just not gelling with me plot-wise, so I might dismantle and rebuild. I really WANT to get back to my personal work again, but between paid commissions and my job suddenly picking up, it's been a chore. 😭 I'm losing my SH fans!

I wrote about the tantric devis in hinduism playing an integral part in the end of the world while every character with a brain puts everything to stop it.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get paid commissions? Cuz the traditional job sites are just not working.

Well, it depends on your ultimate niche, what you love to write and for which audience, and then you join a forum that is focused primarily on that.
In my case, all of my story commissions over the past 20 years have come from "furry" sites, such as Furaffinity and SoFurry, and I actually started out the same as anyone else - I shared my work on the site, people started to read it, loved what they read, and requested other ideas.

I've been extremely lucky to get repeat customers all those years too. They helped me out with unexpected expenses often; even helped me keep my house payments going for two years. So, yes, just decide what you really love writing the most, join a massive forum reflecting your interests, and share your work with others. People should notice and begin asking you to write something else.
