I filter out BL, psychological and tragedy.
I do not filter out Gender Bender as sometimes they are done good, although that is getting rarer.
Drama is a bit iffy, but sometimes can be worth viewing for when it is misapplied, or done in a reasonable way without drowning out the rest of the story. So sometimes I filter that out, but not always.
The rest, I either don't care about much, or I actually want.

You guys already voted, is there a need to announce your vote when it's publicly visible? :blob_frown:
Of course we need to. We need to draw even more attention to these tags to maximise the display of hatred we feel towards them.

And then if anyone has disagreements with our taste, we can purge the earth from their existence. (y)

I already know why I dislike Xinxia/cultivation though. I didn't despise it until after I started reading a few and realized how bad they all were.
Some of the main reasons I feel they're bad is because while the idea of cultivating stories are cool with "Get stronger! Fight more evil in the name of martial arts!" I feel like Lit RPGs came first and they're ripping off the "Fight people, Get stronger to fight Evil!" concept that has when Lit RPGs were already pulling from things like Dragon Ball and Dungeons and Dragons to make their stuff. It's like they copied over a text twice to get some of their books.

That said, they also get to get away with using metaphors to explain everything and then also a concept of, "A paragraph is one sentence instead of the usual 3-5. Hooray!"

GL, BL, Sports and Slice of Life.

GL and BL because I find the romances to be weird. I don't really know how to explain it but the way the romances are written don't really appeal to me. Now, I've read some really great ones but the majority just don't cut it. Honestly, my favorite romance was actually from a BL smut (go figure) because it actually showed the pair growing together (and the interactions were pretty funny at times).

Of course, most romance stories don't cut it either unless there is something that has to force the two partners together because I don't like Slice Of Life either. While I will read it if it's something like a transmigration/reincarnation story where the slice of life is built around farming or something mundane but only because that's something completely outside how I live (truthfully, I'd probably die if I had to farm every day) but a slice of life set in a regular city with someone living a regular life with a regular job and potentially dating just isn't it for me. I'm already living a regular life.

And Sports. I just don't like sports.

Just smut, because the first thing I see in a day should not make me randy, as I have to wake up and put children on the bus immediately after.

BL, Drama, Mecha, Horror.

BL - I'm not a fa
Drama - I'm no longer trusting shut ins to simulate people having conversations. So I've completely given up on the literary genre.
Mecha - It's better being a visual medium than a written one for me.
Horror - Hard to do so, I see far too much below mediocre works that I have given up on them too.

BL, Fanfic

BL - no I do NOT wan't to imagine two boys doing the deed
Fanfic - I wanna read stuff I more or less haven't read, not a 'everything is the same, except one character does something else because they are a self insert'

Add to that, most MC are unlikeable as hell, villains are cartoonishly evil, bad translations, generic cookie cutter plotlines that make isekai seem like a breath of fresh air, awful pacing, heavy wish fulfillment, etc.

Fanfiction, Romance, Harem, BL, Ecchi, Smut.
(Forgot to tick Romance in the poll.)

Romance and Smut are usually written for thirsty twenty-year-olds.
BL and Ecchi are at best full of foreign, esoteric practices and at worst glorify child abuse.
Harem novels spend too much time on the awkward relationships between the protagonist and his collection of mildly interesting flowers. Their protagonists also tend to experience frequent bouts of selective blindness, indulgence, and stupidity.
Fanfictions are written for fans and usually by writers who are inexperienced. Since I rarely care for the original works, it can be difficult to follow the plot.

That does not mean I absolutely will not read a novel featuring one of these tags. It means that I dislike most of them, and thus, choose to exclude them from searches to avoid wasting time.
