Since I don't like tropey love triangles, I tend to prefer poly lovers instead, I remember reading a good (english original) M/M/M/M/M (five guys) story, there were sub pairings inside the poly that were a little closer to each other but also they all loved each, and well, I don't know if that technically counts as Harem any longer???

Super lucky? Nah that goes past the realms of inconceivable.
:blobrofl: Maybe it's some beginner's luck buff from the God of Chinese BL so they aren't going to be scared off immediately :blob_sweat:

I was wondering about this as well. I don't think so though. Like, if I remember from the other harem-posts, then the consensus was that harem means one person with multiple love interests. There might be a subplot for one or two of the love interests but if it's everyone with everyone, then I don't think it's the same anymore. I think that'd be under the poly tag instead. (We do have a poly tag, don't we? :blob_blank:)

Not really, no. We have "polyandry", for one woman married to multiple men, and "polygamy", for one man married to multiple women.

That is all.
:blob_catflip: I thought we had one. Well, guess I'll have one tag to add to the list of "what we need to accurately represent sexuality on here" when another one of those threads comes up in the future :blob_sweat:

Correction: apparently "polygamy" is gender netural marriage to multiple spouses, so not as bad as I thought.

Still requires marriage to apply, though.

I happen to think that there isn't much of a disguise there in lots of cases :blob_blank: But then again, I'd probably say the same about het romances if I was still reading them. Seriously though, I think I'm going to flip a table the next time I have to see the sentence 'punished in bed'. It's currently trying to ruin one of my favorite novels :blob_pout: Like, the fuck, guys, it's okay if you wanna have sex, but please do it because you like it and not because you feel the need to torture the partner you claim to love.
I hate to agree but you're right. I would blame it on yaoi mangas that like to euphemize rapist semes but there do exist some really sweet semes and consenting yaoi. Still, I have mostly stopped reading yaoi and moved to Chinese BL novels. I have yet to see asshole MLs in the ones I've read though. Don't know about scribble hub BL but at least novelupdates have some really nice and fluffy ones.

Mmm, Chinese danmei sometimes scares me with its (supportive) views on male homosexuality. Even more so than the Japanese views, :blobrofl:. So far, I haven't seen any Chinese BL on NU that would pass my standards of a "healthy relationship" ^^.

Personally, I don't mind even outright rapey/abusive stories or any other kinds as long as I can easily discern them. They're specific taste for when I'm in the mood for them. Like, obviously -- rapey/abusive romance is a thing because so many people want to read it. It serves its purpose. Plus, I see how it's very nice for generating conflict and tension.

My issue is that I have hard time finding the other types of romance in the piles of unhealthy relationships paraded as "not as unhealthy as you'd think!". So sometimes I don't even bother to try. Tags and synopses aren't even the issue. Many people have different views on what constitutes abusive and what doesn't (I learned that from NU reviews), and through such vague descriptors, finding a book that would satisfy all my nitpicky preferences becomes nigh impossible, lol.

Ahh, how I wish for more efficient ways to find the exact stories we want. But so far, we don't even have the poly tag :blob_no:

I respect the hustle dude, but quick side note: if you press the "+Quote" button, it will add the post to your quote cache. You can do this to multiple posts at a time, and then place multiple quoted posts into a single response! This way you do not have to spam almost a dozen replies in a row~
Yes, I only realized after @Sabruness pointed it out to me ?
