I listen to the screams of my younger siblings (3 of them) as they run amok in the house... Yes, this is very, very motivating for me as it puts me in all sorts of moods.
But for reals tho, I think I just prefer silence

Hey guys, just curious as to what kind of music do you listen to when you write out your chapters?
I for one have started to listen to @RasenChidoriSniperShots profile AMVs in youtube because many of his video is very emotional and impactful on many levels.

Most of the time I just write in silence, with my fan on in the background because I need white noise in the background. But when I am in the mood to listen to music, it depends on the scene I'm writing. If it's action, I listen to fast-paced, dramatic music. If it's the villain's time to shine, I listen to songs that make me feel powerful so I can channel that onto the character. But the common theme my music shares is that it's all instrumental, or mostly instrumental. I've tried before but I just cannot focus with songs that contain lyrics.

Whenever I'm writing, I want the environment to stay silent. I get distracted when there are loud noises around and I wouldn't be able to make progress that way.

Distraction is my bane as my concentration can be diverted easily. That's why, whenever I'm writing a chap, I'll head out and stay inside the cabin that I made myself in a nearby forest.

Is it bad that I can't tell whether you're making a joke about this cabin of yours or not?

Do you... actually go out and write in a cabin in the woods? Is that a thing?

Our place is surrounded by a pretty dense forest so, yeah. It's a thing in our place. It's quite hot back at our home so I made a cabin inside the woods. It's nice, comfy, and quiet there so I tend to write there most of the time.
