I write with my phone, specifically Samsung Notes, because I can write anywhere and in any position I like

I like writing in a pretty notebook with sparkly gel pens.

But in the interests of time and practicality, I generally use my laptop.

I'm using a mechanical keyboard from Vortex series VX64, another rebrand of GK64. It has USB connection with detachable type c to USB cable. I'm using a custom L shaped braided cable as the original cable is rather annoying.

But I'm using split spacebar feature with modular custom plate from GK64/GK66. I also have partially replaced the original grey-black colored PBT 64 keycap with white-silver PBT keycap from GK68x. I need the split spacebar keycap from GK68x keycap, because I'm to poor to buy basic keycap set with actual split spacebar (especially the spacebar with 1,5U size).

I have replaced all the original Gateron Brown with 45gram spring that were factory lubed from GK64 factory, and now I'm just using Kailh BOX Pink silent switch with 35 Gram stock spring and no lube to make my keyboard silent as I don't like the clacky sound of other "gaming keyboard".

I also have replaced the stabilizer with Durock stabilizer and have lubed them myself, although there's still significant wobble due to PBT keycap isn't being flat-straight from factory.

Lastly, the typing feel is rather sensitive due to 35 gram spring. It's actually less sensitive than most 45 gram or even 50 gram due to the actuation point, but I would prefer Gazzew Boba U4 tactile switch or Durock Dolphin silent if not for the exorbitant price (it's actually cheap for most people, but in just broke compared to most people internationally).

That's the typing device I'm using. It's surprisingly very cheap ass when compared to what most enthusiast in Mechanical keyboard community were using.

Laptop, since I don't have any desktop computer.

But when the mood arises, I'll just write on my tablet while lying down.

Rough draft: because I'm writing with AI tools I'm trying TTS and speech recognition, so I just say the next sentence (or usually part of the sentence, since it's easier to "steer" the AI that way) then the AI reads the next part it generated to me, then I continue, etc. I just have to press one button to start/stop recording.

How this actually works out: Accuracy of transcription is actually pretty good these days... EXCEPT for punctuation, capitalization, and unusual words. So... it might not really save enough time compared to typing. Also, for steering an AI tool it's good to be able to do "pruning" (get rid of part of what it wrote, cutting back to the point where the generation can "grow" in a different direction) and have to use a mouse or touchscreen for that. It's still not that hard to do with tablet + headphones though, while traveling.

For more extensive writing and editing, laptop + Word + ProWritingAid. Keep wanting to try Scrivener, because long series is hard to keep track of in Word. But Scrivener is a little too complicated...

I usually do all my notes and outline stuff handwritten simply cuz I can do it pretty fast before I forget stuff. I feed it into the ol desktop when I've got time to actually think about what I'm doing. From there it'll go through several rewrites through my writer group before I use some software to actually organize some stuff, then hopefully it looks like I'm a professional 3 million IQ super author by the time it gets posted anywhere.
