Suddenly a Succubus. Not quite hidden gem since it's above average in popularity for SH, but it's not particularly popular. I don't read enough smut to know more, but this one is amazing (largely because it would be great if all smut was cut out, but the smut is good too).

If we're going for smut and care less about the story surrounding it - it'd praise my own hiatus (unfinished) novel. I dropped it in favour of a rewrite which is paused but I do think my smut is pretty good (above average) but that's just me speaking.

otherwise a story with great plot, characters and gratuitously described sex would be considered adult, right?

My personal favorite of others' work is Trouble With Horns, but it's very big. I need to read more of the genre, to be frank.

To blatantly shill my own stuff, there's A Housepet's Trade, which is dickgirl pet!sub x dickgirl sadist!domme with magical healing, and has a secondary progression fantasy plot about becoming stable and financially secure in a reincarnated world through using sex to generate precious goods using the local magic. Just finished the first book at 102k, and people seem to like it well enough. (~55k views so far.) Pacing is perhaps a bit slow but I'm told my character development is strong.
