This seemed fun to try. I just thought I'd ask what kinds of stories are you guys looking for? :) And I'd like to listen. Thanks.

I have the urge to read a story rn where the mc just hunts vampires because they are vicious creatures. I kinda have a temporary grudge cuz in alot of stories vampires can kill masses of humans and seemingly get away unharmed, which is infuriating

I like your point of view. In too many stories the vamps aren't bad guys now. A slayer point of view story is vastly untapped right now.

Haha, I am looking for audiobooks to learn English as a newbie and improve my writing. Issue is this, I am just starting out in writing and also learning English. I think first It's important to improve my English and that's why I am trying to practice it and listing podcasts and other videos and audiobooks to listen to understand and learn English. It would be great if someone can help me with finding audiobooks which are not too difficult to understand in any category preferred self-improvement, self development and language learning tips.
Also, any recommendations for choosing an audiobook speed? I mean, should I go with faster speed or slower? Just looking for guidance of experts.(I think I should create another thread of it. :s_tongue::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:).

My wife listens to a lot of audiobooks. Avoid modern ones - the majority have AWFUL, AWFUL English grammar and word usage. Just awful. Look for older titles by English or American authors on Audible.
If you're actually trying to learn, you probably want a slower speed. Once you get a feel for the language, faster is better (until you hit Chipmunk speed, at least) as some of the readers - especially the AI ones - go far slower than they need to.
(or wait a week or two to see if mine turns up on PocketFM)

Novels about martial arts set in a modern world, straight romance novels with male MC, manapunk novels, age gap straight romance novels where male MC is younger, novels with old, badass MC. Almost all of these are impossible to find. The only thing that is rare but still present is romance with male MC, but if we add another requirement of, no system and MC isn't asshole, it magically turns into something imposssible to find.

Any novel with a likeable protagonist and a decent number of chapters.

They can be girl, guy, or nonhuman. They can save the world or sleep all day. But if I feel the urge to murder them, or worse, if they sound like bland cardboard cutouts, I am OUT.

I agree with this. Male MC romance and younger male lead romance is rare but so good. Especially ones where the guy is ACTUALLY LIKEABLE.

We need more of em. :blob_melt:

Something with the warmth and compassion of 3-gatsu no Lion and the realism and worldliness of well, also 3-gatsu no Lion. I really like 3-gatsu no Lion. Genuinely the greatest slice of life ever created. Am I actually looking for a recommendation? Not really, but I'm open to them.

I really just want to bust a fat 3-gatsu no Lion nut. It's really good. It's a kaleidoscope of every human emotion, each handled with care and nuance, all while disguised as a shogi sports drama/cooking show. Please watch or read it, but not the live action adaptation.

I agree with you! You should find better English grammar and structure from eras before. Isn't this very ironic though?
