Do you listen to music when you write?

If so, this is the thread to share!

Not related to writing but when it comes to programming, I always listen to music. As for what kind? Mostly pop :blobrofl:

I work a lot better and I'm able to focus more without music but it's so boring without having some kind of music playing in the background. If I really want to focus and need to finish something before the deadline, I'll turn off all music and just focus.

My musical interests vary, but when I am working or programming I find Metallica to be inspiring.

Post-hardcore and electro-whatever. If it's too loud or someone is screaming, sounds like my jam.

I don't write. Not a creative or imaginative bone in my body. But when I read or stuff I go for this stuff.

I usually just put my liked playlist on shuffle, there are some weird songs in there...

When I want to concentrate I go without music, or with Studio Ghibli's theme songs, I specially like Howl's Moving Castle's Merry go Round of Life when played by Kay the Pianist.

To show my inconsistent interests I also love to listen to Alice Cooper's Poison.

Usually some electronic music from youtube channels like MrSuicideSheep or Diversity. Sometimes J-Rock from people like One Ok Rock or My First Story.

When I'm drawing I usually play movies or LPs in the background, but when I'm writing, I can't concentrate on my words when other people are talking (or singing), but I also can't concentrate in silence, so I play instrumental music. Lately, I've been listening to metal covers of video game music, and since I'm writing a story about play video games... it's been really motivating and helped me with scene building. :blob_cookie:

I don't really listen to music because I think I can focus better without it. But sometimes when I'm listening to a particularly sad or exciting song it gets me in the mood to write something sad or exciting, or some other emotion.

I like listening to my favorite kpop group while I work! It doesn't help me concentrate better but definitely encourages me to continue working instead of giving up half way. (PS Favorite group is Mamamoo since 3 years ago and will forever be Mamamoo, okay I know the name sounds weird but give them a chance okay..)
Mamamoo's latest MV [gogobebe]

Recently, be it during drawing, writing, etc, I usually listen to jazz hop. However, I only do when I get into a lull. I work better when it's quiet.
