Onee-sama to Watashi, the giant sister specifically. Prolly no one knows that one, so here's a piece:

Also, Shiro from So I'm a Spider, So What?, but only in her fully human form. Called White in the anime.

I haven't even read past 20 chapters, but I can tell that Freezing has a great design to support its plots ( ͡• ͜ʖ ͡• )

Serious answer:

Shin Angyo Onshi and Defense Devil by Yang Kyung-il
Promised Orchid by Park Jin-Hwan
Air Gear by Oh Great!

Those artists design are insane, Oh Great specifically doesn't mind distancing from unbiased omniscient camera and instead make sick artistic scene that are like subjective narrator view.

Also, Letter Bee has one of the best color schemes in anime.

And the depictions of the different metal genres and Negishi's sociopathic expressions are a gem in Detroit Metal City. I like drawings that give that old-school-style feeling as if it was from the 90s or 80s. I can't explain it correctly, but books can have that charm/feeling as if they are from a certain period of time.

  • Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Araki is top tier in character design)
  • Eyeshield 21 (People love OPM, but the designs in Eyeshield are awesome)
  • Vinland Saga (Peak Viking)
  • Berserk (Peak Body Horror)
  • Sun-Ken Rock (Boichi is such a great artist)
  • The Lazy Lord Masters the Sword (I really like how clean the designs are)
  • Dungeon Meshi (The monsters especially are extremely detailed)
  • Soso no Frieren (The melancholy of the characters is noticeable just through visuals)
  • Golden Kamui (Amazing and varied designs)
  • Saihate no Paladin (Dragons have been quite devalued thanks to the average Isekai protagonist killing a dozen per series... here they put respect on their name)
  • Baki (Even if at times I don't like them, I respect the craftmanship behind them)
  • Re:Monster (Pretty baller monsters designs)
  • Re:Creators (Holy shit such an underrated series)
  • One Piece (Some people clown Oda for his designs, but I dare them to make such a distinct look and so many distinct characters)
  • Beastars (Like father, like daughter)
  • My Dress Up Darling (Great designs overall)
  • Wonder Egg Priority (Shame the ending is an absolute shit-show)
  • Redline (Pure undiluted rule of cool)
  • Appare-Ranman (P.A. Works does it again)
  • Innocent (A work of art)
  • Casshern Sins (I love the retro designs with modern style choices)
  • Giant Robo The Animation (PEAK RETRO DESIGN)
  • Big O (Minimalist Retro Neo-Noir Cyberpunk)
  • Getter Robo Armaggeddon (As close as you can get to Ishikawa's modern artwork without going overboard)
  • Legend of the Galactic Heroes (PEAK 80's-90's anime designs)
And I could keep going

At times I don't, but overall I do. I mostly respect the work behind them. But at times he goes overboard. Still he has great designs.

There was a manga with rather striking character designs I really liked, but the mangaka turned out to be a molester and pedophile so he was locked up (and rightfully so!).

Other than that:
Lookism
Heaven Official's Blessing (the artstyle is just generally gorgeous)
Revolutinary Girl Utena
Magic Knights Rayearth
Vision of Escaflowne
Becoming the Villain's Family
The Devil (a korean webtoon)
Yugioh

And just generally the Soulsborne games, if that counts
