Hi, I'm AJ! I don't have much time for reading, but what little time I do have I like to spend writing. I've been anxious about sharing my stories online, but I feel like the characters I've made deserve to be loved by more than just me. I hope I can bring entertainment to others as they have done for me in the past.

I go by raven, im a veteran father and husband. I enjoy reading manwhas and light novels, mostly murim, and action. love gaming with my kids. Favorite novel right now is TBATE, its the one that got me into light novels and manwha. I am new to writing and I am currently writing Modern Day Martial Arts. I will say its a slow burn, not your typical instant gratification or OP MC off the rip. Not everyones cup of tea and thats okay, ive thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Anyways i look forward to reading some of your novels and hope you enjoy mine

While I know most of the users here are migrating from Novel Update Forums but I'm pretty sure along with the ones from the other forum there will be members that are completely new so that's the purpose of this thread! To welcome the newbies.

An example of the intro would probably be good so here's mine
I'm called Ophious but people here usually call me Ophi or Phiphi for short
Well since I'm here you can probably tell I have a deep interest in reading novels, games anime and manga are also things I like, basically I'm like an average person. I do like cooking a little and gardening is starting to become a boom in my family and I might join
Current favourite has got to be my sister the villainess by cupcake ninja, there will be r18 scenes later but it'll be indicated in the chapter title and isn't necessary to read for the plot! I like it since it's quote funny
Genres I prefer are fantasy, comedy and slice of life
Not really into deep dark stuff
I am new what it means that I don't have privilege in general chat

Hi, all, my handle is JADavidson. I’m older than the average user, but I’ve been a reader all my life. I grew up in Okinawa in the 1970’s (told you I was older! :-), and watched anime when Science Ninja Team Gatchaman was showing on TV in prime time.

I’m a father and grandfather, own my own business, and play way too much Starfield on my Xbox.

I‘ve always wanted to be a writer, but didn’t see how to make that work with everything else going on in my life. Then I found this site. So I’m going to give it a try. my initial story, Blood and Dust, is something I’ve worked on and polished for over forty years. If you have a chance, I’d love to know what you think of it, and would welcome any comments or constructive criticism you’d care to share. It starts slow, like the best anime, but I promise the wait will be worth it.

Hello!
I'm known in the furry fandom as "Leilani". Someone made the suggestion that I should share my work here. *^^*

Name/Nickname you want us to call you: I have many. Leilani, Lani, Lei, h'otter, otter, are all fine. I'm really not that choosy, but my pronoun is "she/her".

Hobbies/interests:
| Writing | Swimming | Hockey | Pizza | Animals < Cats | Reading | Movies |
| Art | Music | Cheesecake | History | The Ocean | Crime Drama | Sunshine |
| Sweden | Traveling | Languages | Yoga | Youth | Trivia | Handmade Jewelry |
| Fantasy/Sci-Fi | Vikings | Comic Books | Chinese food | Sex | Freedom |

Genres you read often/tags you often look for: SF/F, horror, crime, mystery, humor, slice of life, animal adventures, and many more

Your favourite novel/read and WHY: "The Lord of the Rings" saga by J.R.R. Tolkien. I could give you a ton of reasons why but I'm sure you all know. It set the stage for the world of RPGs, Dungeons & Dragons, countless MM games, and fantasy novels that came after them. This saga changed the whole world. <3

and even some of the stories you wrote on scribble hub: I've only shared three so far here. "Down to the River" is mesmerizing take on the modern-day "river siren" featuring a small-town flavor audiences might relate to,; "Going Home", about a band of 19th Century pirate foxes sailing a vast, empty ocean filled with mystery and terrifying revelations, and "Catfish: Bryan and Christiana", a "fan-fcition" from the hit MTV show "Catfish", where two furries are destined to meet and solve the mystery of identity. And like the show, it's going to go horribly wrong. *^^* All are erotic horror pieces, 18+ only.

Then add anything you like: A freelance story and article writer for 30 years. I used to write blogs for American Greetings. I co-create and co-write three webcomics, "The Depths", "Insignificant Otters" and "Island Girls". My 15 minutes of fame: I played a zombie in the original "Dawn of the Dead". My makeup was done by the great Tom Savini, and we all had breakfast with George Romero. (RIP. George) <3

(If we know each other from Furaffinity or SoFurry, please squee! ??? I don't know anybody here!)

Hey hey hey~ I'm EVE MICHAEL, but you can call me Eve or SmutRuinedMe
I’m that mysterious writer who shows up in your feed with something soft, dark, or downright unhinged (in the best way). I'm new here and already screaming (internally).

Interests? I'm literally a walking contradiction Writing soft chaos and reading spicy heartbreak
Drawing until my fingers cramp (or I give up and scroll instead)Lazing around, binge-eating snacks like a sleep-deprived goblinSleeping like it's my jobFashion that says "I cried today but make it couture"

Staring at trees and pretending I’m in a Studio Ghibli movie

Genres I’m addicted to:

BL (give me the pining, the pain, the intensity)Psychological (yes, I wanna suffer and overthink everything)Action (I live for fight scenes and dramatic standoffs)Supernatural (gimme curses, spirits, hot demons, haunted boys)

Fave Reads & WHY I Can’t Shut Up About Them:

Sketch — It’s raw. It's real. It's messy in the most human way. I felt seen.

Killing Stalking — Psychological hellfire. Toxic obsession done right. Left me broken. 10/10 would spiral again.

Passion — That INTENSITY. Every scene breathes with want and danger and it’s chef’s kiss / Illy Rigrow — Complex AF. Enemies to lovers but make it personal, sexual, and way too emotionally invasive.

Jinx — GUILTY PLEASURE. Feral energy. Athletic trauma. The tension’s illegal.

…and a thousand others I’m hoarding like emotional candy in my digital bookshelf.

✍️ Stuff I’ve Written:

When the Silence Screamed – Dark, soft, dramatic, painful, sometimes hot, always a mess in the best way. MCs who need therapy but instead get each other. ?

> Psychological | BL Vibes | Trauma Bonding | Pretty Boys With Ugly Secrets

I post mostly character-driven fiction, with dramatic turns, layered trauma, and occasionally a shirtless breakdown.

Final Vibes:

I'm here to scream over fictional men, cry over scenes I wrote myself, and find people who get that “I want to devour you and also hold your hand” vibe.Drop your recs. Let’s build reading lists and trauma-bond over pixels.

Please don’t ask my age, address, or blood type ? just know I’m here to cause problems and write smut about emotionally unstable boys.

Hello

I'm Martín.

I'm a bit of a gamer, a bit of a reader, I watch anime and I like cinema as well.

I'm looking for action stories with elegant power systems, although I would be open to reading a thriller or a horror story.

My favorite book? That's an easy question: The Da Vinci Code. I quite like the recontextualization it provides. I'm talking about The Last Supper, the author of the book took a masterpiece and with the aid of research he provided an esoteric explanation for what was going on in there.

I'm not a native English speaker and I'm still learning the language, so I may make mistakes.

I'm Zephyr! Hiya!!!

Hobbies/interests: writing, reading (usually nonfiction, honestly, about neurology/psychology/biology), crochet, and video games (I LOVE Frostpunk, currently playing Ixion, Aska, Raft, and doing a multiplayer run of Stardew Valley...depends on the day what I play)

Genres: Big fan of post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, fantasy/medieval, and rags-to-riches/weak-to-strong kinds of stories.

Favorite novel: What a question. IRL I just read Ursula Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea but I liked The Left Hand of Darkness a lot more. I love The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle and I loved Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock. My absolute favorite series is The Symphony of Ages by Elizabeth Haydon. There are so, many, good, books!!! I'm only just starting reading litRPG and getting involved in serialized fiction because I had some friends who told me about it a few months ago. I'm still very fantasy-fiction in the way I think, so that's what I'm starting with writing, but if you know a litRPG story that you really liked, recommend it please!!!

Anything I'd like: I think about writing so much right now because it's all I'm doing, so I guess I want to talk about it. Writing is way way way different than I thought it would be--actually writing a story instead of just reading one changes all the dynamics and there is so much more that goes into worldbuilding and the background stuff than I ever anticipated. But if anyone reads a lot and has always wanted to try writing, please just do it! Don't hold yourself back, don't be too harsh with yourself. "Make bad art," it's so rewarding to even just try. I don't know who needs to read that, but someone does! If you have a story in your heart, write it down and get it out there! And don't delete your work, even if you think it's horrible!!! I've done that and it was a mistake and I've had to rewrite all of it and I WISH I had what I deleted! ?

I LOVE Frostpunk too, I'm addicted to that game ! (Even though I always play with the same settings, so all my games look alike, but it still feels fresh somehow)

Welcome !

"I am here to chew bubblegum and ..."

Wait. Wrong movie!

I am out of bubblegum, suggest me the best novels this site has to offer.

What kind of stories do you like ?

Name/Nickname: FallenBeelzebub, but I usually go by Beelz. Some people shorten it, so I get Beel and Bee thrown my way a lot too.

Hobbies/Interests:
  • Drawing: I mostly work as an illustrator through commission, so it's both my job and a major hobby.
  • Reading: I read a couple books a month and devour webtoons / comics like it's nobody's business.
  • Writing: I've always liked writing and got into the hobby through RPs as a teenager. Now I just write self-indulgent stuff for myself.
  • Video games: RPGs are my usual go-to, but I enjoy horror too; the original Outlast is still one of my all-time favorite games.
  • Watching Twitch / Youtube: Usually it's video game playthroughs.
  • Listening to podcasts: It runs the gamut from true crime, medical history, to D&D stuff.
  • Alt fashion: Give me all the black clothes, belts, chains, fishnets, zippers.
  • Vtubers: I'd really like to learn rigging or PNGtuber+ so I could make fancy models.

Genres/Tags:
In the most general sense, I prefer romance; I read a lot of BL and GL. Fantasy is also high up on the list, and I'm a sucker for isekai. I also really like sword and sorcery. I could list more, but the only thing I usually shy away from is slice of life.

Favourite Novel:
SVSSS by MXTX
Why: It's been living rent free in my head for six years. I've reread it so many times. Not even sure why, but it just tickled some part of my brain and became a permanant hyperfixation. SVSSS was also my introduction to xianxia and danmei, so I can thank it for introducting me to a whole new genre.

Stories on SH:
I've only got one story right now. Rescued by an Alien Alpha, about a dude that crash lands on an undeveloped planet and finds himself the object of an alien's affection. It's a sci-fi BL with heavy omegaverse themes. The last one is KEY. 'Cause I've seen the top stories under the omegaverse tag, and it seems like some people have confused it with omniverse / multiverse. Y'all, omegaverse is mpreg with extra steps, lulz.

Extra: Anyway, I'm mostly a lurker. I don't know how often I'll actually be posting around here. :3c

Thanks you for reading

I'm R.S. Avery, call me RS, or Avery, just don't call me Shirley. I game, read, write, and enjoy using true-crime shows/podcasts as background noise. I read across most genres, though I gravitate toward all that is speculative fiction. I don't read much non-fiction, though occasionally an autobiography or science work will catch my interest.
I don't have a single, favorite novel. There are many I love, but to pick just one? Impossible, lol. "Gabriel's Woman," by Robin Schone, "My War Gone By, I Miss It So," by Anthony Loyd (non-fiction), "From the Corner of His Eye," by Dean Koontz, "Savage Thunder," by Johanna Lindsey (prime bodice ripper), "Primal Hunter," by Zogarth (this is on my love/hate list - I keep dropping it, then coming back to it, damn Zogarth), "Brave New World," by Aldous Huxley, "Fahrenheit 451," by Ray Bradbury... That is like a speck on the iceberg, lol.
I don't have much time to spend in forums, though I try to keep an eye out for new authors asking for help or advice or just reads. We were all new, once :)

Hey fellas. I'm MarikoRawralton, but you can call me Marie.

My hobbies are, writing, of course, and gaming. There's a couple other artistic endeavors I engage in, I made my own cover (with art provided by a dear friend) and I've dabbled here and there with stuff like music and coding (though not nearly enough). I generally just do whatever I need to do to get my writing out there, and learn as I go.

I'm actually a long time Royal Road user (nearly 5 years as of posting this), but I've decided to experiment more with crossposting (is that allowed here?), so I'm considering splitting my time between here and there. I wrote two volumes of a story called The Knights Himura which I've been posting online chapter by chapter since at least 2019, back on Wattpad.

If I had to attach myself to a single book that I like a lot, it'd probably be Fahrenheit 451. That book really changed my work when I read it as a kid. It made me realize that the written word did have value. My parents were the "talk is cheap" kind, and didn't really care for it. Beyond that, probably Alice in Wonderland. I've always wanted to write an Alice in Wonderland-esque story, so maybe I'll pull something like that off sometime...

Hello.
My username is _hello_, but my IRL initials are CJ. Pronouns are he/him.
I love to read, and play video games when I can.
I can read anything except for smut or anything adult. My preferences are darker books, slice of life, isekai and sword-and-sorcery. My go-to is fantasy, classics, and informative nonfiction.
My current favorite book is TITAN by Ron Chernow - its a nonfiction book about John D. Rockefeller Sr by the same author who inspired the Hamilton play. My favorite novel right now is probably Sunrise on the Reaping from the Hunger Games universe. I also like Jane Eyre and any manga I can get my hands on without my parents knowing.
On SH, I have 12 that I'm currently reading, 117 that I'm planning to read, 3 completed ones, 4 that I myself paused, and 7 stories that are on hiatus, for a total of 143 books. Among all of them, my favorites include: All of Yairy's books, such as Radiant Prism and Crescendo, Happy Evil Heartbreaker by ShoujoDirector, Kitsune in the Shadows by swil_, Luminary Insitute and Leaves of Dawn by Esiyx, Reincarnated as a Vampire Princess by RepresentingEnvy, and The Art of Gold Digging by LoveMoney.
I'm in school, and I have cochlear implants due to my profound deafness.
