Weird plot armor isekai protags have

Kill anyone. Literally anyone. It is later revealed that the person they killed was a criminal anyways so it doesn't matter.

Isekai either exists as a wish fulfillment gary stu story, or a grimdark torture porn series. There are very few stories that go in between those extremes. And even then there might be something else in them that ends up being off putting or not as favorable to a wider audience. Such is life.

There's always been weird things in isekai that is some form of plot armor. Here's the main two obvious ones to me.

Magically know the language, and there's a convenient common language shared by all the species the MC is allowed to talk with.

The second is systems always increase the MC's strength instead of representing it.

My isekai protag (who is isekai'd into a torture porn world) says this once: "Even if you kill me, I can't die."

Which is commendable considering this isn't a wish fulfillment isekai at all (it's just a very realistic world). It's just impossible to kill her or anyone she puts a tattoo on because it uses oxygen and hydrogen and very efficient transmutation to heal (it also makes your body adapt to any environment), they could only be killed in the space of void and even then if they land on a planet where there is either oxygen or hydrogen then they would live. If you threw them into the sun they would live in perpetual agony, constantly burning and choking but never able to die.

So I think it is possible to write something in-between wish fulfillment and torture isekai.

Anything and everything can be an overpowered weapon if the MC deems it so. It's stupid.

Going against the norm and pride, literally the two things that would get most people killed in a fight to the death, are what drive most protagonists to win.

Stupid, out of nowhere, macguffins. Usually held by the MC and with no explanation of how they got it or why they haven't used it yet. If there is a reason, it usually doesn't make logical sense to anyone except the characters.

Near omniscient knowledge about situations for no reason.

Nothing is actually a threat to isekai MC. Even the strongest god is strong enough to rough the MC but weak enough to be beaten when MC reveals secret ability that was not telegraphed in story in any way.
