stuff that you deem “original” still exist, you just gotta wander off the beaten path for it.

In places where content is controlled by corporations, you know, people who want money money money and numbers go up as quick as humanly possible, it’s inevitable that the familiar, most likely to sell stuff gets more exposure by the app’s design and the stuff that are unfamiliar gets relegated to the discovery/genre page unless by some luck, miracle, and insane quality writing it resonates with many people and gets popular, after which there will be a slew of imitators.

and honestly, what does original mean here anyway? Everything is a derivative. Most common fantasy tropes are derived from Tolkien.

Those of you who harped on originality and brought up the big hitters as examples that aren’t original stories… all of you need to attend some reading comprehension classes.

It was meant for the art style. Go read the first point. When I complained about originality, it was about the art style, not the stories. I was talking about how they LOOK the same.

At least back in the days they had their own recognizable artstyle. Like Stormbringer or Noblesse. Nowadays, all I see uses the same type of art as if one guy draws all of them. I think they are manufactured in a sweatshop or pure ai.
