Translation issue?

I am convinced that 9 out of 10 suspicious sentence composition is caused by feeding the text written in some East Asia language through the automatic translation script.

Typos, on the other hand, are probably genuine. In most cases, it's autocorrect, or rather auto-corrupt.
I imagine the typos are because of ESL issues.

If you were ESL like me, the most errors you would make would be the sentence composition simply because sentence structures vary between languages. The spelling could be remedied with spellcheckers, assuming you aren't set on autocorrect, because it would be the issue you expect to have. OTOH, the auto-correct messes up even with native speakers, as it replaces words without warning. I am prone to make the same amount of typos in my native language as I do in English, and if there is autocorrect enabled, the text would be gibberish either way.

Let's make a petition. Shadowban fanfics. After all, some jurisdiction makes fanfics illegal, it's only allowed because the authors are broke and nobody wants to sue a broke person.
Already made a similar feature request, but it got locked by a couple of malicious individuals.

Well, I tend to use Grammarly for the most important stuff.
I'm sorry, nothing badly written should be trending, period.
Did we learn nothing from E.L. James?

Fan Fics have been a grey line for a while. In short, it boils down to if money is being made off of it or not. And even then, if the original author allows it.

Aside from that, they’ve been recognized merely due to its popularity.

In the end though, I’d just recommend to get permission from the original author. It will save you whatever legal headaches can come with it

While being sued is unlikely, you really do not have a solid defense if actions are pursued. Popular authors tend to let it go, but the smaller you go, the more risk you take on.

And if it ever threatens the profit line, you’re definitely gonna be in for it.

You misunderstood what trending is.

Trending list isn't the collection of TOP 10 stories on site.

Trending list is the collection of stories that experienced the notable burst of activity in roughly a last 24 hours.

Paradoxically, this rules out actual best stories on site, because best actually means the most established, with a lot of standing followers, but without a substantial growth from where they sit. Which in turn means no sudden burst of activity unless some heavy advertising outside the Scribble Hub is involved. Your stories are in a better position right now than some of the most established writers here would be.

This is actually the reason for the whole "delete fanfiction" notion, to purge as many stories as possible so the other could once again get the attention stolen from them by newcomers/

Pretty much.
Basically, a lot of it comes down to "If we find you, you are in trouble. We aren't going to go out of our way to hunt you down, though, unless you make a nuisance of yourself or start trying to sell our work as your own."

And whatever you do... you definitely shouldn't sue the copyright holder of the original story when they change something in the story that breaks your fan story.

I should note that copyright holders are actually required to shut down fanfiction if they find it; failure to do so can result in the loss of the ability to claim the copyright. If you can prove that the fanfiction existed with their consent at any time, then their claim becomes void.

Well, I don't think that's a solution at all.
There's a lot of people who worked very hard to create these; seems like maybe the "trending" process needs to be revisited and revamped. Or, like was mentioned, a "fan-fiction trending" section - but then that's probably not cost-effective.

Of course, we could all just try writing fan-fiction! ???

I think the fan-fiction tag is enough because it feels weird to give fanfics a seperate trending especially if the tag allows to do something similar.

Yes there is a fanfiction tag, adding a sort by trending in the search feature would be the best way to get a fan-fiction trending list, it doesn't make fanfics even more prominent by giiving them a list on the homepage and you could use the same sort by trending in generell.

We could. Until someone complains.

It would still work in your favour.

You have established following on FurAffinity.

If they somehow found their way here, and somehow created accounts, and dutifully read your stories here, with enough time spent of page and perhaps some comments on... :s_wink: ?

Who knows what would happen?

I never really thought about that. I was trying to reach an audience away from Furaffinity and SoFurry. I guess I would feel weird saying to folks, "Hey gang! Come over to Scribble Hub where you can read all of my stories that you've all read for years already!"

I suppose I could write some exclusive stories here though. ?

What? Are you rerarded or something? How can you be so blatantly malicious? Is it jealousy? Just to clarify, after a specific size, it is almost impossible to get to trending. That is why already successful books are not on there.

If anything, no fanfics would help other newcomers with their own, new, original stories to get there instead of the fanfics that ride the coattails of an established universe.
Oh, it was "monetization" ...

If this is so horrible of the crime, why you didn't stop monetizing yours?
You are retarded and malicious. Good to know. That is me, hello.

If you would have even the inkling sign of working brain cells, you would know that a profile’s Patreon/Paypal/Ko-Fi/etc is automatically displayed under novels.

You are lying by omission and you know of these facts because they were discussed with you before in other threads.

You are a jealous little petty liar, and I think I hate you and give kudos to RR for banishing you. Too bad you ended up here.

Go, generate some furry bussy and goon to them instead.

Ugh...
Truer words may never have been typed...
And does he mean a ... racy sex game (Ero-game) or a European-style game (Eurogame)? I suspect people trying to figure that out are most of the initial clicks...
The former, most likely.
