whatWhat’s the “Core” part mean?
i dont think soAlso is part of the post missing?
Most of them are Ao3 or FFN graduates. Fanfiction writers usually don't need to introduce the characters or settings because it's already established by the fandom and the habit stuck even when writing original fictions. Why do so many people do the one-sentence-paragraph thing? Are they trying to make their sub-1000 word chapters look longer than they actually are? It adds nothing to a story and is so freaking annoying to read. Stop it.
Some of them are writing their stories on their phones; some people are trying to mirror a character’s psychological state. For example, in moments of shock or urgency, short, abrupt sentences reflect a racing heartbeat or fragmented thoughts; some people are trying to make sure the new generation that has low attention span doesn't miss some of the sentences because the paragraph was too long so they skipped half of it; some people are translating Asian works where it's very common, etc.Why do so many people do the one-sentence-paragraph thing?

I circumvent this problem by doing two sentences per paragraphWhy do so many people do the one-sentence-paragraph thing? Are they trying to make their sub-1000 word chapters look longer than they actually are? It adds nothing to a story and is so freaking annoying to read. Stop it.
That's not an excuse. I write my story on my phone, and I know not to try and pass off one sentence as an entire paragraph. Some of them are writing their stories on their phones
Using it for every single sentence is like ending every sentence in your book with an exclamation point. It doesn't make your book more exciting, it just makes it obnoxious to read.some people are trying to mirror a character’s psychological state.
It wouldn't be grammatically incorrect to write the whole story in all caps, either, but that doesn't mean anyone would want to read it.it's not grammatically incorrect
