To quote a predecessor, it looks like AI slop, which is a huge issue. It would not sit well with readers. Also, your covers look too patently AI, I would say.

The problem is there a lot of AI generated stories out there. You do not want to b associated with them under any circumstances.

I just read one of your chapters and I’m astonished that you’re coming at me you’re work is ai WRITTEN don’t come at my thinking you are just some English professor and if your wondering I put a few of your chapters into an ai checker and they come up as heavily ai WRITTEN

I could argue there is a difference between ‘look’ and ‘be’.

That being said, I take notice that these days
- consistent rhythm
- minimal typographical variation in prose text
- controlled punctuation
- formal grammar in formal writing
- and last but not least, a balanced sentence structure
qualify as AI generated. One might wonder what the trademarks of good writing actually are.

That aside, it is curious that you ask an AI about AI.

Let us see what our genius ChatGPT says if I ask them if it was written by a human:

Your writing is what keeps them. There's no shame in using AI covers, but if you don't have the wherewithal to make AI covers not look like AI slop then your work is going to be lumped in with the AI "Authors" that plague the Internet.

And it doesn't help with having, at best, average first chapters. If it's not compelling then readers aren't going to continue.

You got the passion, you've written a lot, however, you come off as a hobbyist like most of us. Learn what books' first chapter engage with readers and find a way to create your own engagement.

RR is a haven for LiRPGs. If your novel falls outside of that, it's very difficult to get the attention it deserves. Meanwhile, whether or not AI-assisted writing isn't a concern in RR, as they have an AI warning tag in their trigger warning.

So if your novel isn't a LiRPG and doesn't have a competitive edge, don't expect it to be popular. If you insist that "this is the best novel I've ever written," then why not spend hundreds of dollars advertising on RR and see if anyone will like it?

That might be true. In my experience, the RR forum is large but unresponsive to threads (especially those created by niche authors). Even when they do respond, the responses tend to be cynical. I like the SH forum because it's quite welcoming to everyone. Even though authors have their own preferences, at least they respect those preferences and don't force their opinions on others.

Had a look... finally.

I won't worry about it, I think that is the exact right about "traction" this book, this cover, this description and this content should have.

So there is no problem to "fix".

I mean, it's not like you want to redo your cover, redo your description, redo your proses, redo your concept, change your plot and change your characters, write better dialogue, change the format, choose better sentence structures, and improve your story pacing.

It just is... what it is, just accept this thing you've created.
