I’ve noticed this over the past year or so. Stories that are porn without a plot (not stories tagged as smut, because those can have a majority of plot with only occasional smut) are prohibited. The algorithm may put them on trending, but hours later they are removed and never appear on trending again, even if they rank high on the activity list. An example is that free-use story.
