Okay, so one of my characters is stuck in prison, and they (begrudgingly) convince the warden to let them watch anime or read manga.

But they basically are like "See if I don't pick shows that you will hate!"

So they are picking a list of terrible anime. And so now I need that list, please.

Remember, the anime cannot simply be lackluster. They have to be bad.

Well, you could just google "bad anime". I did that, and I've found 2 websites: this one and this one. They are so "bad" that I've never heard of any of them.

...Unless you want popular ones that the reader may be able to relate to?

That was the lackluster part. I needed sorta known bad ones.

Although I've heard of Gundress and Psychic Wars. Wait, Berserk? Berserk cannot be on a bad list, even if poorly done!

Garzey's Wing, Skelter Haven, Wounded Man, Ex-ARM, and Psychic Wars shows up on both. This means they are objectively bad.

I liked Angel's Sanctuary though. On the other hand, Angel's Egg... I tried to like it, I really did, but I kinda deeply couldn't.

Okay, this is what I came up with (the setting goes from about 1982 to 2011, in an alternative reality with a COVID-like event starting in 2004).

In the weeks to come, I installed a television and gave her a nonstop session of magical girl shows, everything in order from Himitsu no Akko-chan, to the more famous like Creamy Mami and Sailor Moon, all the way to the most recent entry of 2011 (a cute looking show called Puella Magi Madoka Magica). I left the room before seeing too much of that show, though, as I had other business to take care of. But my intent was to torture her, and she seemed to be enjoying that too much, despite some of these being far too cutesy and insipid for me to stand. I tried notoriously bad anime like Parade Parade, Angel's Egg, Dragoon, Garzey's Wing, Skelter Haven, Wounded Man, Ex-ARM, and Psychic Wars. So I switched to isekai genre, and aside from a few gems like Magic Knight Rayearth, gradually over the course of the week, Jesus became unhinged where nearly a thousand years of solitude hadn't had an effect.

So Madoka is the latest magical girl show. I kinda laughed to myself at her torturer figuring this was just some other cutesy anime, and walking off before seeing it properly. It just reminded me of one of the previews.

Gun Frontier is the worst anime I’ve ever watched. Sad too because the creator is responsible for a bunch of really good classics. But gun frontier is just impossibly bad. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I remember the female main character had no purpose besides getting forcefully molested every single episode.
