I find their characters are shallow and uninteresting, and the female characters who used to be hot before have been toned down.

The male characters are one dimensional stereotypes. Though miss fortune was still hot in that game, she was whiny.

They were not toned down in LoL. As for lore, I agree. It got more generic. The only saving grace is that every skin theme has their own lore.
