The two things I read about patron is that the biggest deciding factor on whether someone goes for it is their own inclination to spend money on a story they like. Like, $5 vs $10 vs $20 isnt as important as that. It's like 10% follower conversion, at least on RR, from what I've heard. And as you build up your backlog, you can add new patreon tiers with more chapters for a higher price. Have fun!
I decided not to make one because it comes with an obligation to keep making chapters consistently, but I don't want to be tied down to writing. I'm taking a break on one story because of burn out, and I won't be able to contribute to it consistently enough for patreon despite its popularity.

I'm pretty new myself, so the only real advise I could give is:

1. Ignore 1 star ratings and focus on the feedback of readers who actually like your story. Trying to figure out some salty people's thought process won't get you anywhere.

2. Don't be afraid to test out something new if you want. You can always edit your chapters if it doesn't turn out well.

3. Don't dwell on the trending tab. It's chaos and doesn't really show your novel's actual growth or views. A majority of your readers won't comment, and comments are a big part of the formula... probably. Honestly this last one can just be boiled down to not comparing yourself to others. Just because a novel is doing better on SH or Patreon doesn't mean it's better than yours.

Please how can I make use patreon to monetize my work
Giving advice on Patreon is hard. Some authors offer small amount of chapters for big prices yet they are succesful, some offer a lot of chapter for small price yet they are unsuccesful, and so on. It all depends on your novel and readers. I think the best course of action would be to ask them directly.
