Out of 10 new authors in manhwa 8 are Bl authors and the other two are the ridiculous author of dukes of north manhwas, you can't even get something fresh nowadays and it bugging me,sigh atleast those authors of sci-fi or realistic historical aren't disappointing anyone.

Thank you for the historical shoutout but we piss off fantasy fans who want it to be more unrealistic while somehow also bothering the historians with minor creative liberties (like avoiding racism and sexism, which is very important for some reason). Sci-fi authors have the same issues but with scientists who can tell when you don't fully understand the math. Sorry that there is a swamp of copies in your preferred genre.

It's the derivative cycle. It's not just Manhwa, it's Manga, anime, comics, movie, etc. When you first start out everything is new and interesting. As you dive deeper you see the patterns and start to get jaded. Once you get bored, you'll have to wait ten years for the derivatives cultural drift to change enough to "feel" fresh.

Because unlike what you think, creativity isn't a vacuum. Its a long chain of inspiration, derivatives, and parody of previous works. Orcs, goblins, and Elves have been around centuries before Tolkien. Who took inspiration from the likes of Beowulf and Fae myths.

PS: I myself drifted from US comics and cartoons, to anime, then manga, then Manhwa, then webnovels, both JP, KR, CN translated and eng OGs. Gaming wise, I went from platformers, to rpgs, to fps, to rpgs again, to mmos, to metroidvania, to crafting/survival, to zombie. It takes time to see something new and interesting in all media after while.

Sigh,i am even taking a break from any CN novel since 2022 because i got bored, nothing is interesting especially when cultivation novels are saturating the platforms and all of them are the same.

Same here. Have you ever thought of going into a coma and wake up 5 years later hoping everything is no longer the same then?

that's a fairly unique manhwa for me. To me, it's like system system system regression system, did I say system four times? Yeah, more system. Also asshole harem protagonist who apes (the R is redacted) every girl he finds, or the the author blueballing his reader with barely existing romantic implications. Yeah, that's what I have seen.
