Where would you want the title.
maybe double the stone face granite all at the bottom, and title/author both down there. or what.
I'm just playing around with it.
what were you thinking.
Oh, i post it above

I think the whole picture would need to be reworked for a centred title... I do like the font, though.
Yeah, that'll be more ideal. I crop it so the reflection light become center. And match the font effect with the reflection light.

I think placing the Title on there quite.. not right.
This is just my idea regarding title placement.

So, if we are gonna present examples of the cover now, how about structuring it like this? I wouldn't recommend using this specific image, though; I prefer @TinaMigarlo to use what they already put effort into. This is purely for an example piece in what I believe might work.

Oh this is actually lit! I'm using the current image that already been shared, but this one is actually far better.

The white doesn’t really pop, take my words with a grain of salt I am no artist, but maybe orange, red, or pink may make it stand out better.

This is the best so far, imo.

Hm. I came into this thread, figuring I had this pretty much nailed down. Whatever else? I got that cover image solved, all I need to worry about is what space at the top/bottom to create for titling, and just the hand-wringing over font.

I was dismissing Daeron's suggestion out of hand. What the hell is Daeron talking about...
...until I *saw* Daeron's quick take on it.

moving the entire center focal point of the now cropped image, to the point where the sword touches her hand. I didn't understand that, artistically or thematically? Until Daeron *showed* me. Then? I kind of fell in love with that idea. It was weird. The moment she picks up the sword is planned to be a big moment in the story. How Daeron knew/suspected that? I can't fathom.

L1aei's version though, satisfies perhaps more people. The "safer" take on things.
Thought I had answers, now I have more questions.

Pretty sure L1aei's version nailed it, not just the safer version. Daeron's version, while shifting the focus to the sword is good, doesnt work with THAT picture.

Maybe if her arm was more centred... Maybe a totally different stance.

(I was still happy with your grey background title and sig)

meh. just seeing if there was anything else I could do with the top/bottom titling space.
the gray granite sits "back" letting the image ride forwards. This "lava" rides top, making the image sunken back in.
maybe with side strips lava too, I dunno. Just playing.
Hm. Maybe better with sides as well.
