In essence they really didn't but here's a video I saw before I read all the other articles about scientists desperately trying to tell people that this doesn't make a species.
Did you mean to say that it might make them a completely new, atrificial, species entirely, but not Dire Wolves?
Or that it doesn't make Dire Wolves deextinct because they are not Dire Wolves?

Or mayb even both?

From what I read somewhere, they're still grey wolves, and have only had their genes edited to mimic dire wolves traits.

Let me explain to you what they are doing to you...

There was a great man in the 1800s. He predicted that that the governments of our time would rot and become villainous. And that they would harm their own people to the point of 'self destruction'. Not destroying the others, but through greed and corruption harm their own people.

Why would they do that?

There are numerous videos on the internet that show how the wolves follow the bison. There are Yellowstone videos like this and others. The basic idea is, as the bison move, the wolves move with them. There's an interaction between them. The predators move them.

What these people are doing is 'mischief technology'. They want to create weapons to MOVE PEOPLE around and control them through fear, or other devices in much the same way these wolves follow the bison.

It just so happens they want people in the cities. Its easy to control people in cities. They get all stacked up, and struggle for any meaning and resources. While outside the cities people see they can produce a lot by learning to have synergy with the land, learning how to harness it for their needs. They want people pushed into the cities also to take the land and resources.

So... they create mischief technologies to do this. This isn't the first time they've tried to re-introduce wolves into North America. Farmers and people in agriculture have the most truthful perspective how harmful wolves are. Just 1 wolf... you can lose all your poultry. You can lose other animals also. Now imagine how much worse it will be when they take away the guns.

One step closer to the cat girls. Nice.
They're not cat girls. They're just human girls who have their genes manipulated so they have furry ears, a long fluffy tail, fangs, and night vision.

And they named them Romulus and Remus.... I guess they expect one to kill the other and then go off and found a country?
:blob_hmm: How often do you think of the Roman Empire?

It's for posts like these that I wished we had a "huh????" react.

counter-arguments
But regarding whether or not they actually brought back dire wolves, I think none of it matters until we bring back dinosaurs.

Like come the fuck on, I know Jurassic Park said it's a bad idea, but let's just genetically engineer 1 t-rex, get a few photos and videos, and then euthanize it. It'll be cool as hell. Try and tell me you wouldn't want to see an actual t-rex. Don't worry about no slippery slope or ethics because we'll just be making 1 dinosaur. Then never again. For real, just 1 dinosaur please, I want to see 1 real dinosaur (none of those fraudulent dinosaurs you call birds). Just one t-rex, please, I need this in my life.

It's not a T-Rex, it's just frog, lizard combo with genes manipulated to make it big, have a long tail, sharp teeth, and tiny little wee wee arms.

Yeah but cute dogs. Also not really a place to talk about glowie mkultra shit in a wolf genetic engineering thread.

When they turn a chicken into a T Rex I'll be much more impressed.

Well my response was based on the idea that maybe people wanted to know what was going on. The poster did see this as an unusual event. So that's why I replied. People don't keep wolves as pets.

But OK let's give you some attention. A response for you; They do look cute. At least they are interesting in how they look too. In theory someone could alter their genes to be able to process herbivore food. That could make them safe to be around maybe? Are people hoping for something like this? Maybe alter their genes enough to make them usable by man?

You seriously think the wolves are the part of this that's going to be weaponized? Not the fucking DNA manipulation?!? Maybe we could use this technology to bump your IQ up a few points.
