I've learned long ago that statistics holds you back, at least for me. As you chase statistics you'll soon learn more about the ways of attracting readerships and the nuances to getting numbers.

I haven't reached that level yet but I've heard stories of slippery slopes. Where the numbers are so good that people simply stopped writing what they want and instead, write what helps them earn. It's not like they did it out of frustration but rather, the prospect of chasing the cash money becomes so enticing that they lose interest over their aspirations and just go for that instead.

Whether that's a good thing or not, it's up to you. But losing myself over worrying how many people would read my work is a threshold I'll never cross; and if I do it's probably a good time to put down the pen.

Well, my stats were really good when I did daily releases. But who the heck can maintain busy rl and daily releases.
Certainly not me, but darn, some stories don't have an update since last year, but somehow still surpassed my story with views. Just shows that people don't want another cliched story, haaah.
