Did you know that their first two legs are called toxicognaths, and with them are able to inject their prey, such as cockrachcows, with venom before eating them?
Yes, they have some good venom too.
I hear the venom is particularly strong against cows shape shifting into an anthropomorphic cockroach and one sting can, even if the centipede is less than an inch long, cause said shape shifting cows to lose the ability to change form and move before being eaten and killed. Better turn back to a cow before it is too late. Also, there is no being vigilant/paranoid and squashing any before they approach because cockroachcows can’t sense in any way the ones with the intent to kill and feast.

Hard to believe are local shape shifter would not be able to sense something like that when it came for them. Unfortunately that is just how the world works, if they don’t change soon their death by centipede will be inevitable.
