Can an english speaking person help me ?

I always have trouble with this, but is 'hair' singular or plural ? In french it's plural, so I would say 'I need to cut them' but how do you say it in english ? Is it 'I need to cut it' ?

It is both singular and plural. "Hair" is the collectively "hairs", so in your context it's "it", as in the object you're referring to

Hair is both singular and plural, while hairs is only plural, though it should be "I need to cut it."
