I don't go around pissing off my cat. He loves me and has never growled at all. Sounds to me like you're abusing your cats.

Nope one of my cats just really really hates me pacing back and forth for some reason... She will just sit nearby growling at me and it is just her as my other cat is super cuddly so I guess annoy is a better term than pissed... Also cats make a lot of sounds like chirping or even barking in some cases-nya.
