Woe, 3 month delay be upon ye. (just kidding, hopefully the doctors aren't that evil).
If that happens I might see if I could qualify for disability. Being somewhat active, as in standing, walking and sitting if I am feeling sick, for more than a max of four hrs causes me to start vomiting on and off until I can lay down for an hour.

Honestly, you should see if you qualify anyway, even if the surgery had happened tomorrow. After all, you had told us that your condition got in the way of your work.
The hope is the surgery fixes it and I don’t have to.

Does your area prevent you from taking disability and working? Mine does; I could take disability but then I wouldn't be allowed to work.
I think I could work part time, if I am remembering correctly…

“If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), you may be able to work while keeping your benefits. But the benefit amount you receive may be reduced depending on how much money you earn from your job.”

Are there any exact figures? Like, "Hey if you earn 25k then you only receive 2/3 benefits."

Receiving SSI and SSDI while working

If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), you may be able to work while keeping your benefits. But the benefit amount you receive may be reduced depending on how much money you earn from your job.

As of 2024, you may stop receiving SSDI benefits if you earn over $1,550 a month. But your eligibility to receive SSI while working will depend on which state you live in.”

“After you start receiving benefits, the rules change a bit for part-time work. If you're on SSDI disability, the SGA limit still applies, but you now have what's called a "trial work period." This is a period of nine months during which you can earn more than the SGA limit.”

It is pretty high on a federal level.

It's this part that scares me, but I'll look into it.
I am fairly certain that if I don’t earn more than ~$1,500 dollars a month I will be fine, in my state.
