You just forced my hand to post in this hell of a thread, my dear Beef.Outlaw Star is really good.

But it's mostly good because it's a really darn good story with quite realistic characters. There's about.. 3 episodes out the 26 I would tell people to skip, because they are pretty bad.
But the first 8 episodes basically is like watching 2 movies back to back, and they're VERY solid.
The last 4 (or is it 5?) episodes is the epic end of the entire series where they have all the cool things they've been building up to, so it's also excellent.
So already, 12 amazing episodes out of 26, and 3 bad ones. That leaves about 11 episodes in the middle that are of average-to-good quality.
Kick ass opening music too.
Also: One of the only anime I watch in English instead of Japanese. The dubbing is excellent, and Gene Starwind sounds like such a brat in Japanese.
I like the whole soundtrack, personally, but I am an auditory type person with a memory that associates feelings to music. So Outlaw Star songs all have a huge advantage.Notice: is the ost and the plot good-nya?
