Actually you brought that up.

Also, I wasn’t talking about physical harassment but verbal.

Physical harassment was what I felt you implied when you brought that up. Hence I’d call the police, but to me that doesn’t count as intervening because in most cases there are only seconds to act while the police are minutes away.
That's why you gotta be clear with your words, dearie. I wouldn't know what you think or not unless you said that aloud. I'm unfortunately very bad with matter of fact speaking, and the narrative you framed doesn't help you either.

Just to clarify, no woman “needs” help from verbal harassment. They might want it to feel more comfortable, but in America, there has been arguments that they need help from verbal harassment.

I didn’t think physical harassment would be done in public often since everyone these days has a phone, but verbal harassment is still “legal” in most states as long as there is no threat or statement of intent.

When I was talking about “protection” it’s about trying to force men to “speak up.”

Thanks, I redacted the story of what happened when I tried to intervene in something I saw that was physically happening.

Thanks.
That's quite messed up, if I may be bold. Bystander intervention shouldn't be a gender-specific thing, and there are courses (often free) that teach you how to do it safely. Here are THE 5DS OF BYSTANDER INTERVENTION, with four of them being indirect methods of intervention. This may also help overcome the bystander's effect, but I understand your reasoning. I hope you get over it someday!

The biggest issue is whether I can trust the "intended victim." Documentation is the most useful, and probably the only one I will do from now on if I can do it without getting caught.
