Arifureta was pretty edgy. Group of students get transported to another world, MC has the weakest ability, he gets betrayed, loses an arm and eye, his hair turns white and he makes guns and other weaponry. Oh, and develops a harem I guess.

I haven't read this in a long while, I don't enjoy edgy stuff... but I think this was the edgiest I've read on this site.

Also you. Stop spamming, you've already been reported. You can promote, but don't post it everywhere.

pure edge and pure dogshit. If I add manga to the list you'd be filled with nonstop dogshit gore slop. Pure edge as far as the eye can see.
If you want pure dogshit edgy then read rooftop swordmaster. It's so fucking trash i felt my intelligence drop. It doesn't even have gore like edgy manga nor interesting ways to kill and torture their enemies like in revenge torture manga.
I had a phase reading stuff like that now I barely remember the titles.

Two CN.

Both are cheap copies of JP revenge porn.

I have both their links in my pf so I don't bother to put them here unless someone ask for it.

They are both usual, "society" killed their entire family so they return the favor by genociding.

Think of the edgy KR manhwa where the hero came back to OG world with full power and start dealing with world overpopulation by trimming the already declining number of Joseon.

Except the first CN dealt with all his shit in C100 and it became generic trash with MC try to become god to res his entire family.

While the second one... I did not continue.

Time to open my personal collection. lol

-Eminence in Shadow and Arifureta. Love the edge, embrace the edge.
-Dungeon Seeker.
-Fixed Damage.
-Failure Frame. Tho I'm pretty biased on this one.
-Garbage Brave.
-Dungeon Dive. Does this count?
-I found Durarara and Baccano kinda edgy, but I personally found "a bit of edginess" being an "ingredient" in gangster-media. Makes it more slick, colorful, and cool.
-The Otome Heroine's Fight for Survival. I really like this one. Has similar vibes to Iron Widow, except the romance part
-I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too. Does this count? It's more cringey self-insert tho.
-Dragon's Chain of Ori.
-unOrdinary
-Bones
-Green worldz
-How to Build a Dungeon: Book of the Demon King
-There was one story where the MC does a "dual wielding reverse grip katana" style, but I forgot the title.
-2 stories where the Hero was Betrayed and got Revived.
-2 stories where the Hero returned to their world with their abilities but somehow their parents died in an accident at chapter 1.

Do you mean like, fun edgy? Or boring edgy?

Because I love edgy, and I have a whole collection of edgy babies.

Eminence of Shadow wins hands down.

But 'My Death Flags Show No Sign of Ending' is the most memorable. I remember thinking this was the best novel ever in my middle school phase. Then I went back to it after five years, and it was so cringey that I vomited. The manga is better, but the novel is unspeakable.

I think The Girl Who Ate a Death God, technically qualifies? Along with The Girl who Bore the Flame Ring, the Girl who Fell from the Polar Star, and The Girl Raised by the Death God Holds the Sword of Darkness in Her Arms. Yeah, I read the entire series, lmao. All about different ladies in different wars. And add the Yojo Senki anime, my fav.

And maybe Demon Noble Girl~Story of a Careless Demon, and Ouroboros Record~Circus of Oubeniel. But these are good edgy.

Time to open my personal collection. lol

...I was already shocked when someone called Solo Leveling boring edgy. Me and my brother both devoured the entire manga series. But now you're telling me Otome Heroine's Fight for Survival is edgy too?

Welp, guess I'm still in my edgy phase.

Arifureta (novel and manga), cringe edgy.
Bones (kr webtoon), sadboi edgy.
Isekai Lazy Syndrom something (manga), i forgot the name. typical cringe edgy.
Sword Art Online (novel, manga, anime), 'I wear black and therefore more superior than you' kinda cringe edgy.
Reincarnator (kr novel), regressor edgy.
Main Character Hides His Strength (kr novel), bery edgy.
Reverend Insanity (chinese novel), best type of edgy.
Ouroboros Record (novel), man just want to get immortality kinda edgy.
I am The Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire (novel and manga), but its actually edgy fun.
The Dark King (cn novel), post apocalyptic edgy that starts not-edgy and become very edgy later.
Warlock of Magus World (cn novel), edgy.

If you're into the gory kind of edgy stories like me, I'd recommend checking out Blood-C, Elfen Lied, Hellsing, and Tokyo Ghoul.

Or maybe some edgy Revenge Isekais... although those are just edgy for the sake of being edgy and lack coherent plots. But I'd recommend Fukushuu o Koinegau because of the gore.

And I present to you: my own fucking novel!

Some of my readers have complained how edgy it is, but that's why I love it!

Otome Survival is on the same vein of other novels, the only difference is that the MC is female, and does it in a reverse isekai way.
- came from the lowest of the low
- or maybe an orphan
- will do "anything for survival
- fight against fate
- becomes partially apathetic / fully apathetic but learns it again through the journey
- trains in stealth
- destroys the power system with prep time by fighting something 2 ranks above their current one every end of the arc (e.g. rank 1 defeats rank 3, at rank 3 defeats rank 5)
- wears black
- usually lacking in common sense.

I like this story but it would be unfair if leave it out of the list just because I like it, and it's not a phase. LOL
The edgy phase never left
This isn't really an uncommon setting, plot, etc. or whatever they call it, whether it's a western published work, a light novel, a web novel.

There is a manga named Trash. I once stumbled on it, and said "Wow, I couldn't make something so edgy even if I tried." Its just pure edge. Random murder, crime, drugs. Everyone tortures, kills, and r's each other with most of the cast for some reason being high-school girls or younger. It is like geniunly disturbing how nonchalant the story is about all the shit it pulls. It even glorifies them time to time.

[Kuro no Maou]
You get a teenage boy who gets summoned to another world to be used as a magical test subject, with a device placed on him that takes away his free will.
He escapes and, after that, everywhere he visits and settles down in usually ends up getting tragically destroyed in some way - usually by those who had tested on him.
There's extreme yandere waifus, cursed items, lots of deaths, morbidly lewd tentacle vine monsters, politics, wars, religious fanatics, fairies, witches, demons, demon kings, material harvesting from bodies of captives, etc...

I've not read all of it, but there were definitely some bits (when I did read it quite a few years ago) where I felt uncomfortable from how edgy it was in places.

No idea if it will be your cup of tea, but it was the first thing that came to mind when you said edgy.
:blob_sweat:
Bearing in mind, it was probably almost 10 years ago when I read it might not even be considered edgy these days.
