I like drama but not in novel form, because they can't properly show me a montage of a characters life just moments before they confess, but somehow fail to convey their feelings. I love drama in other mediums. The SAW theme always plays in my head whenever some weird revelation comes up. It's always a fun time.

Drama is the representation of a spice. Too much of it, it gets overwhelming, too little, it's bland. Some novels can work without it, if the novel has good ingredients.

(Never mention melodrama to me, it doesn't exist)
