Thanks
I'm screwed.
My current manuscript is 100,000+ words and is a slow-paced epic.
Man, listen.

Unless you're looking to monetize your work through a publishing house (which is driven not only by an author's skill, but also by luck), then by all means, write how you want to. Even when you write in slow pace, and with 100k words, YOU WILL STILL FIND SOMEONE WILLING TO READ AND SUPPORT YOU.

It may not be much, but there will be. And I know because I have the same problem. I wrote a slow-paced 400+ chapter isekai-harem epic with no smut/sex and with 1.3 million words. Then published it here, a site where many readers expect isekai and harem to have lots of sex.

And I got loyal readers even when my writing has lots of flaws. They may not be from this site, but they existed (in HoneyFeed, Syosetu, Wattpad, Pixiv, and even WebNovel).

So, if you're saying "You're screwed", the moment you finished your story makes you better than 75% of authors publishing here.

Thank you for the encouragement.

You don't need to make gooner bait content

But you can if you really feel inclined to sell your soul to build up more views.

I tried to sell my soul this way, but it really didn't go well. Dude wouldn't even give me enough for a Klondike bar. Souls really are not worth what they used to be.

I posted the newest chapter. So I guess I'll continue on here. It seems like a good community that I feel a part of.
It already received a comment, too!
I guess I have a chance...
may as well...

What is the worst that would happen? You don't get picked up by a publisher?

Just keep plugging away, you will find your people. =)

i used to read a non-LN novel here that posted a 10k chapter once a month. it had a good amount of followers too. so you never know. im just saying you're not writing to the site's target audience.

and you should always cross-post if success is what youre aiming for

Definitely keep writing and posting. My novel isn’t light at all. But I’m sure there are people out there who will find it. Same as yours. I ended up cross posting and have found more of an audience here than on other platforms. By a lot, for what it’s worth. So don’t give up! Your audience is out there ? It took me 7 months on another place for someone to leave me a comment. So you are already doing well.

I tried RR, and that didn't go well.

Success is relative, I guess. If I get some likes and maybe a few followers, that would be good. But more than success, I think I'm just looking for feedback on my story. Is it interesting? Is it intriguing? Is it exciting? Is it worthy of someday being published to the outside world?

It will come. I too want to publish someday, but I’m thinking of going the indie route. There are places on here where you can post for feedback, but if you are looking for natural engagement, it may take a while. If you are prepared to play a long game, and keep posting, I’m sure you will get answers to your questions.
