Actually, I have narcolepsy. Cataplexy is what it's called when you have a "sleep attack" and slump over. The name is somewhat of a misnomer, because you don't fall asleep exactly. You might slip into REM and hallucinate, but otherwise it's more that muscles go limp and you flop over. It takes a little while to get your bearings back. Also, cataplexy isn't usually random, but brought on by strong emotions (this is why narcoleptics are known to have sleep attacks in the middle of laughing).
I know you didn't ask for this kind of feedback, but thought it might be helpful? The snoring part had me confused, and thinking you might be misunderstanding what cataplexy usually entails. Happy writing!
