Hello, fellow Authors!

I am gearing up to drop the biggest chapter drop of my career. Cresting nearly 100,000 words with the chapters spanning from 30 to 65 with two Interludes in-between.

The big wave will start at 5:30 EST and will ride out 'till 8:20 EST.

Read it here!

They will get flagged and hidden if you mass release those chapters at once. Your novel gains visibility from the latest updates section and if it gets released as one big blob your visibility will get crippled as only the last released chapter is shown there. So you should be avoiding mass/bulk release so your novel can appear in the latest updates for a longer time because that is where you will get most of your readers. Doing one to three releases per day with at least two hours gap between releases instead of releasing multiple parts at once should prevent your novel from being hidden by the system and give it more visibility.

Edit:- I was intimated by other users (decaded and tabula rasa) that I was wrong about the novel getting flagged and hidden as spam when mass released, i rectified my post accordingly.

If you want to maximize visibility on the main site, please don't do this.

Spread the chapters out daily, upload consistently instead of a burst. It'll get more attention that way since it'll show up in the Latest Updates more.

And no, uploading multiple chapters minutes after each other won't blanket the latest updates with your story, it will only show one chapter uploaded, the most recent one.

How to permanently hurt your story and cripple visibility.

At least wait a couple of hours after every chapter. Literally uploading them all at the same time does the same thing as just uploading a single chapter.

Is once an hour too often?

Do it every 6. Not sure what the threshold is, but I was putting out a chapter every 6 hours for a bit there when I had a wave of inspiration, and I didn't get flagged.
Uh... Dammit. At that rate it will take almost a year to get caught up.

You could drop half, then set the rest up on a daily release. That way, your readers will have something to bite into, and in theory, the algorithm will pick you up again... no promises though.
