Punctuality is a virtue we all extol. People are busy and having a clear understanding of when events occur is fundamental to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

When someone schedules an event for 10:00 am people prepare to be there before the alloted time. A reasonable person should have left by 9 or 9:30 to prevent being late.

How can you post a memo urging everyone to be present by 10 and then I came late around 10:40 yet the organisers were not present till 12:45.

I know I do not say this enough but I hate my school man. Making me waste two hours when I was in urgent need of taking a dump ? ?

This is my favorite thing in the world. (Definitely not sarcasm.) In the military it's called "hurry up and wait." We (your leaders) will rush you to be somewhere at 04:00 in the morning, but we aren't going to show up until 07:00. And what's the reason for the holdup? Depends on the day. One day, they just wanted to do it. The next day it was because some stupid commanding officer somehow lost a device that's the size of two bricks, and now your post is on lock down. Good luck, and suffer in silence.

I understand your frustration I've been there many times but the most insane experience was
when I traveled for like 10 hours overnight, no sleep , to present my project , they had scheduled it at 8 AM, but I ended up giving my 15 minute presentation at 4 PM, it was terrible.
I was acting like I was on drugs,
I couldn't even listen properly to their questions let alone understand the hell they were asking,

It's not actually a rare experience that's why the title is African Man time because this is a common occurrence.

A church service slated from 7 to 9 would usually drag on for an extra 30 minutes. A wedding that is stated to start at 9 usually has the bride just starting out with her makeup at that exact time. An exam for 9 won't hold till 10:20. It's an experience so uniquely African it shouldn't even faze me. Unfortunately my stomach was protesting terribly and there were no bathrooms close by.

Still is this a common occurrence worldwide or is it just a Nigerian thing
