With the current ranking system, the tag ranking and genre ranking are based on popularity of the story (or so I assume). An example would be Queen's Hound currently taking 1st rank on all of its tags. The problem I see with this is that it would not be a clear or accurate representation of the ranking. If Queen's Hound suddenly had, for example, a gender-bent character (I'm not sure if there is one in his story) even if the gender-bent character may only appear for one chapter then Ace could potentially add that tag to the story and his story would be ranked number 1 on the gender bender tag ranking.

That's why I want to suggest for a Tag/Genre voting so that readers can vote for what they think as the best story for that specific ranking and not just because of story popularity. I do see that with Tags it might get a bit complicated since there are so many hence I feel like Genre would be the more appropriate for such ranking.

As of right now, it might be too early due to the site not being fully developed but I do think the Voting system for Genre would be beneficial for the readers.

This is why I proposed tag weights back on NU (just like on anidb)

1 star = shows up (A GB side character makes an appearance)
2 star = plays an important role (One of the party members is a GB character)
3 star = plays a core role (MC is a GB)

I'm pretty sure this sort of thing will be at least partially taken care of by @Tony having each novel have one main genre. It's be really annoying and complex to do that for tags though and I don't really think itd be worthwhile when there are so many.
