Are superhero and villain stories overdone or poorly executed these days?

For example: I wrote a story about zombies and superheroes

Fluff by our own RavensDagger is a favorite of mine. That one is about the universe's most anxious supervillian, whose power is little sisters.

Done right they are good.
Note the qualifier: done right.

Have the powers make sense, and how people react to them.

Bad: "He is super strong and invulnerable! He can also blend in easy in every day life with no issues. No-one is worried about him because they all just know that he's a hero and won't cause any innocent person harm.

Better: "He is super strong and invulnerable! He can also blend in easy in every day life with no issues, well except for his muscle density making him very heavy, accidently breaking things having to vanish to be the hero. People as a whole might have faith in him, but some people worry about him; What if he goes evil, is this all an act to get us to follow him, what if he screws up and accidently destroys a building full of people during a fight?"
