I've never had a dream in my life. Only sometimes I have strange dreams that show small scenes of the future, which I remember only after that future arrives. A pretty useless thing. So I'm interested to hear what kind of dreams you have.

Is it nightmares? Crack dreams? Dreams about your novels? Tell me, I'm here to listen.

I rarely dream, moreover, I don't remember my dreams. The only one I remember to this day is a nightmare.

Oooohhh!! Many thanks.
First, let me start with my latest weird dream.
I saw I was climbing up a mountain with a middle aged lady and a middle aged man. There were two different stairs to climb up. We took the same stair. We went uphill and wandered around. Finally, I sat on the edge of the mountain and, it was sooo high. I was staring at the people down the hill. I felt someone leaning against me and I shoved them away. I didn’t see anything. But, then, the man who came up with me started going down the stairs. I didn’t understand anything as to why everyone else was in a rush (there were a lot of people other than us). I looked down to see a dead body of a woman. I shook my head and it was blurry.
Then, the dream casted to another scene Where I was going somewhere in a car. Just then, I saw someone I know in another car and he waved at me and, he asked me to stop the car. The car didn't stop and it went towards a children's park which looked exactly the same as one of that mountain. The car stopped and I got off. That man also reached there and he was running away from me. I chased after him. I chased and chased. Then, he finally stopped and in front of him was a painting. He turned the painting towards me and it was me and that lady.(I didn’t see her face up until then) I saw her face and wailed out. I cried. I actually cried and woke up from the dream. This was the only time I cried while dreaming. I was sobbing even after waking up.

That's a bit sad. Can I ask what the nightmare was about?
I don't remember the details. Something that looked like Burer from Stalker, maybe multiple creatures like it said something among the lines of "Come join us" or "Come to us." Considering I did not play Stalker, did not watch any videos about it at the time of that dream, nor did I watch any horrors, it was strange.

I have dreams every night, and I remember most of them. I would say it's like a 80/20 split of nightmares and dreams. In some of them I am being stabbed, and in others, some part of me I hate is shown. I also get sleep paralysis from time to time. It's the kind where I can feel the physical sensations of being touched.

One of the most recent ones, my sister died, and then her body rose up like a zombie. I remember walking through this big house, and the hallway started to get dark. That's when I saw her. In the dream, I collapsed onto the floor, but when I 'woke' up, I was paralyzed. And I could only feel something touching my arms.

Oh my gawd!! That's exactly me girl. I get a looooooottt of sleep paralysis. It was painful at first. Now, I adjusted to it.
Oh! Another time, I got sleep paralysis and I was having a nightmare with one eye and looking at the ceiling with another. Like, one of my eyes was close, having a nightmare and, another one was open, at the same time.

This is not strictly about strange dreams, but I wanted to vent!

I do get dreams, but I only remember bits and pieces. The time I fully do is when I'm having nightmares. However, this isn't the worst part; the worst part is experiencing sleep paralysis multiple times (yes, at least twice) in the middle of the night and being fully aware of the fact before going to bed.
The typical symptoms include difficulty opening my eyes, feeling like someone is going to kill me, and hallucinations. In my recent nightmare, I was dreaming about escaping in a horse cart, leaving it on a bridge, and flying? I remember the general landscape.

I have all kinds of dreams! This is a very limited selection.

My longest-running, most repeated dream (I know it's old because I haven't been in grade school since I was 7 years old) is one where the school teachers are mind controlled by a kraken in a lagoon in a beautiful, tarnished gold secret room (the room is absolutely MASSIVE). They are bringing the students to feed the kraken. When it's my turn, I managed to wrestle out of their arms, and I push the principal into the waters (who was controlling or calming down the Kraken). All of the students left and I book it. Once outside, mom's car is parked on the asphalt road outside, and I tell her we need to go. She hesitates, until the kraken's tentacles break the roof the school, then she floors it. I always remember this one in great detail.

Another is a Japanese saga (most of it is in a ink-style painting, though with more vivid colors than most of the archaic ink paintings. The traditions and gender stereotypes of past Japan are very present, and the creatures of Japanese mythology are there), where I go on multiple adventures with a team. Oddly, most of it is in third-person, though at the very end, it's in first person. I could go in a LOT more detail, but no one needs a TL;DR.

Then there is one that I want to someday write. I actually have written some of the barebones. I woke up from the dream, and I was like "I must write this down!" It was about a woman who was part of an army decimated by a dragon they went to hunt. Though worryingly, I can't seem to find it... hopefully I didn't accidentally delete it. :sweating_profusely:

I write down a lot of my dreams. Most of them are my experiences of sleep paralysis. I feel like I can't breathe. I can't open my eyes. I know I can wake up from the nightmare if I open my eyes. I try hard until I sweat trying. I can't move my body a bit, like, someone is pressuring me down. I used to panick a lot before. Now, I know it'll end soon. So, I don't sweat myself anymore.

mazes. lots of mazes. usually in places associated with traumatic memories. and oddly, a lot of bathrooms. labrynths of hallways, tunnels hidden under the school. like the backrooms, but a lot more crowded. recurring locations and plots and characters, too. we can go lucid whenever, but usually we keep it at around the level of vividity and just let things play out. sometimes we influence the dream a little, just to change things that we don't like, but usually not.

one of my faves was one where the entire population of earth had died. Now inhabiting a fleet of cruise ships traveling through a surrealistic and absurdist vaporwave landscape of orange seas and purple skies, and oversized objects and foods. the purpose of the journey was to discover one's true self, at which point they would transform and become something inhuman. yet, everyone still got along, despite their different forms and needs. some would leave the ships to forge their own paths, but mostly, people were trying to make a life for themselves.

of the recurring ones, our favorite is the one where we, and a bunch of other super powered psionic kids, have to colonize the summer camp we were stranded at when the aliens invaded earth.

disturbing ones have had us taking care of pets but failing. sometimes its because the pets have multiplied into thousands and are attacking each other, or things just keep going wrong and they keep exploding or dying in gruesome ways.

less disturbing ones have us as multiple people. less said about this one the better.

the ones where we can fly are the best. it's like swimming, or climbing in the air. hard to describe.

or we will be trying to take over a spa maze, or walking through the bathroom stall maze, or the school maze with lunch lines and hallways. lots and lots of mazes. not just any mazes, like, these are the kind that would make the movie Labarynth starring David Bowie's Bulge look like a tiny twerp in comparision.

Sometimes I get a dream where I just... start falling. This immediately wakes me up. No idea why it happens, it just does.

then sometimes I get dreams that could possibly be used as an entire novel idea, for literally no reason, since I don't write (and if I did, it wouldn't be very good)

and on rare occasions, I get dreams where I'm awake but cant move, so I just have to slowly force some part of my body to move to wake me up. and I know they are dreams, since its super dark and hard to see, even though there's always a night light in the hall that's on at night

Dreams are fun.

When I have managed to roll into an uncomfortable position or have started to get cold, I will start dreaming about zombies which always wakes me because I'm a coward.

But I usually only have dreams when I'm well rested. And none of them make sense. I once dreamed I went to a nail salon with Keanu Reeves but then the world was ending so I had to leave to find my family. I ended up in a car with my parents, my brother's ex-wife and we started looking for a toddler version of my youngest daughter who was kidnapped into the equivalent of a Goldeneye level (the snow one).

My phone hates me so this posted too early.

Ever since I was a child almost all of my dreams are nightmares. The first dream I remember was a nightmare. I was around 4, maybe 5, so it was something silly, but a nightmare nonetheless.

In those dreams I'm mostly running away from something or trying to escape. Some are very gory, other are just scary for different reasons. Always end right when I'm about to escape or be caught.

In the recent years I also started having dreams about people I know who passed away.

The most wacky one I had was when I was stuck dreaming. I experienced lucid dreams before, so I know how it usually feels, but that one time was nothing like it. I couldn't feel my body, I didn't have this vague "connection" to my sleeping self. It was exactly like when you're awake and in reality, but I was aware it was a dream. It was kind of scary, cuz it felt like I won't be able to wake up. When I finally did, I jumped out of the bed and didn't want to sleep that night anymore :sweating_profusely:

Somewhat similar to one of my rarer dreams. if it happens again, focus on trying to flex a finger or toe, and if you get one of them slightly moved, focus on it. Should make waking up from it faster, even if only slightly

I have dreams about the future, but they are highly symbolic and I typically decode them only after things have come to pass.

I dream 4 or 5 times a month. I remember most of them, most but not all. I've had dreams that come in parts. Like I'll dream part one of a dream, and then a few weeks later, I'll dream part two where the dream picks up from where it ended in a prior dream, and then continues. Like chapters in a novel.

Most of my dreams are violent. Not nightmares though. Just violent. Though, considering my occupation and my hobbies, I'm not too surprised.

One more.
I was in my school. The environment was eerie. We were in the hallway of the third floor. Everyone rushed out panicking for some reason. My friend told me to bring something of her and I went back. Everything was Super messy. I tried to look for the diary she asked me to bring. But, I saw someone with an exe and he was coming after me. I panicked and rushed towards the stairs. I went down and got in another building in our campus. There, I saw our ex headmistress and we were in the hallway. The hallway was dark but there was a dim red light. It was scary as I couldn't see anything outside. I entered a room where a lot of our students sat panicking. It felt soo real.
