Any reviews/feedback there or here would be appreciated. 'bout the only comment I got so far was 'I adore the story, but I just saw a tag I don't like so I'm dropping it' which made me sad. Alas, to each their own.

I find it rather hilarious that just a change in site can make such a big difference. Even before I started adding silly smut stuff, the story was already getting a little more traction here. Naturally I feel a little bad about having to rely on bad smut to get the attention, but hey, if it works it works I guess.

That said... haven't really gotten much in the way of comments or feedback here on scribble at all. I know I've heard once or twice that the first chapter's opening doesn't 'stand out', but by the time I get to readjusting the chapters I already have out on royal to scribble, it would all be referenced back to in some capacity, so just... cutting it out doesn't feel quite right.

Perhaps I could try and chop/cut/paste it in a different order or something but... not sure.

And I'm still not sure what I want to do with the synopsis of the thing. Writing a synopsis always sounds so up my own butt regarding the story, do people really care that much about one? I usually just look at the first chapter to see if it's full of spelling/grammar/etc problems rather than purely the synopsis. Synopsis from Royal below, which is ever a WIP and changed now and then.

Also fwiw Royal I have like 55 chapters already, but here on Scribble I have... 12 or so, which covers an expanded stuff up to chapter 6 or so on royal.

Not to mention still giggling at the idea that Pathetic, here, is like... already ranked like top 100 in a couple of tag categories >.> Maybe a chance of venue from Royal to here was all the story needed to take off. Wonder if I nipped out all the smut if it'd still get some attention or not.

I mean, considering you seem to have NTR stuff written out, no stones thrown in glass houses :P
I was just goofing around, don't worry. As for bad smut question. It's just, I like smut, and I don't think the genre itself is inherently bad or worse than other genres or tags. It all depends on execution and what you want to achieve with it.

The difference is that unlike RR, SH users have souls
^like Thumpson said.

Royalroad is basically elitist mainly.
And for the hardcore readers.
To make an analogy, its like a yaoi website. You COULD without breaking rules post a yuri series there (heck there even a section for it sometimes, nor rules against)
but good luck finding popularity. Its already good luck you dont even get backlash in the first place in fact.

Also the authors there, they got their own clique. Yep. Some people say they got a discord group or something to be close minded (COUGHechochamberCOUGH)
I mean there is a user here, that explained they were blocked despite never replying under a series. (and by my deduction is bc they posted a negative review on another)

You know, you are lucky. Some authors posted on royalroad and suffered bunch of insults

If I didn't know some readers there really like my story I would not post.

The amount of 0.5s and unfollow I got when I went for a hiatus and got back is insane.

Like yes bro, you didn't like I wasn't posting. Fair enough, just unfollow without 0.5 :(

Any reviews/feedback there or here would be appreciated
I read it until I got to Dreamwalker. It was good story, had it me hooked. There are some areas for improvement, especially in inner monologue. I would incorporate more of his voice. That's it, sorry can't read more :blobrofl:

That is why thomson said sh users have souls.

In RR, there is lot of terrible readers there. Lot of toxicity. Inhuman lvl.
(well there is SH but not that obvious, hopefully)

I'm still modestly convinced half the readers that were regularly there dropped it the moment I had a single m/m pairing in... like 35 chapters lol

I can't say I ever thought about 'yaoi jumpscare' but that is kind of funny. ...especially as before that, my other least-read chapter on that site was the chapter that acknowledged the character wasn't just a straight male, haha. A passage from the side-chapter most people skipped that regarded the MC as not just straight. As well as the 'yaoi jumpscare' in question.

But yes, if anyone has any actual thoughts on the story itself or synopsis or anything, would appreciate it. The post was /meant/ to be about how it was performing between the sights/asking for feedback, but it got a little derailed on poking fun of Royal.

Royal Road is like Reddit. Everyone there acts like they're experts, be the readers, writers, everyone. On a side note, the tags your story has isn't something I'd read so I can't give a review but I think you'll do better on scribblehub than RR based on your tags. At least from my experience, I don't see stories like yours there, here though you see a lot of Yuri and some Yaoi too so I think the audience here wouldn't grab their pitchforks the moment a guy kisses another guy. Correct me if I'm wrong but between RR, Webnovel and SH, SH is way more into and more accepting towards non traditional content.

Yep. There's the problem. Should've mentioned you had non-hetero romance. You dug your own pit on RR.

To be fair, I didn’t really plan it to begin with, it was more of a spur of the moment thing after I found myself enjoying the character and being like OK time for stuff to happen

They are a timid bunch over there, I lost half my readers when my MC ripped the balls off a troll.
