I havent played since early second edition but the price isn't bad since you don't need to buy much to play at a full points value game. You really only need a starter box and one additional unit to make a functional list.I don't know much about it, but I do know that it is fairly unique, and has lots of cool characters. I heard their price policy and casting quality is what really doesn't allow the game to thrive, though it was like 5 years ago. Did anything change since then?
The minis were originally metal but are now plastic. They actually have the opposite problem, the figures have super high detail, and great posing, but are the biggest pain in the ass to assemble because they have so many tiny parts that are easy to damage if you aren't careful extracting them from the sprue.
Basically the dark souls of assembling plastic minis
