when starting FWOAH I made sure that the first three chapters were posted but I had about 5 in total so I would have some cushion for my scheduled release date so I could wrestle out enough words from my brain to make a new chapter to post.
Doesn't always work but the intent is good

At this point, I'm just writing for fun. However much I get done is however much I post. No point in stockpiling when I don't plan on a set schedule.

I post my chapter right after I finish writing them. The thing is a chapter usually takes me 2 to 3 months.

I have just started writing a story that's running online instead of kept together in an novel for the first time in many years.
But from my experience, it is always better to set a pace that is agreeable with your own writing style and save up a few chapters so you always have one, even if life gets in the way of writing new ones.
Don't post everything as soon as you have it, keep a steady upload rhythm, so people know when to expect something.
It's a win for you and a win for your readers.

I've written 100 chapter before starting to publish my story here and on other site. I have like 60 chapters in stock, cause sometime I'm slow at writing and someday words don't come and I end no writing a single chapter for a week.

The benefits of writing in advance and adhering to a schedule are pretty good. You get the benefits of possible monetization, consistency of release, time to actually look at the chapter before they head to release rather than just skimming and posting.

On the flip side the 'cons': You spend a lot of time in planning and stocking phase without the pressure to complete your project, the story is 'failing'(you're own personal opinion on whether it's true or what constitutes failed) in spite of the time you put into it.

Ideally you'll want to save chapters. If the story is short enough, finish it before posting.

I only saved 5 chapter before posting mine, and I just automatically post when I'm finished writing. I am impatient. :sweating_profusely:

I’m in book 3 and I’ve only posted 2 chapters of book 2. Stock pile is close to 30 chapters from what I show on Patreon

I've tried to have a backlog of chapters, but I never can't keep it together.

Every time I finish a new chapter I immediately want to know what the readers will think of it and see if they leave any comments, so I can't wait to see what their reaction will be.

Rhe largest number of chapters I had booked was 6 and I ended up publishing them in two days.

Let the chapters sit for several months (or a few years if you decide to procreate) and then edit them before posting ?

I spam my readers with chapters. My readers are mostly bingers. It works out good for both parties.

It's out of the subject of this thread but you can add a link to your picture in your signature to directly go to your novel. On your signature click on your picture, you will have a little icon who pop, you can add your link there. You can also redimension your picture if you want.
