Starting from scratch

I used to take it for granted when I got many views on my old books. Now I know that most of the readers have read another book by me.

But, you know what? I can make this new pen name work. Might even help in the long run XD.

How long did it take you to get traction?

I got traction almost instantly. That's because competition was a lot less fierce four years ago, and I have a clickbaity title.

Never actually.....I consistently dishes out 40 chapters of story, and still only managed out 20 something views, fewer likes and 1 5 star review.

Shit was so disheartning that I deleted, that story, that profile.

I tried to republish again when I was sober but didn't had the guts, so i dropped writing altogether after posting 12 or something chapter.

I only recently decided to give it another shot at this

Keep trying. Keep writing. Between SH and Draft2Digital, I am getting a good idea of what readers want - and what they don't want. I am willing to learn. Willing to be flexible. Just keep going. Readers are out there.

Forgot to add another important note. I was writing popular genres.

My traction is gradual. It never got that big until the first time it hit trending.

Also, I write a popular genre and some could say my title's clickbaity, so those played a big factor too.

One story started off well (the second I posted), the rest are still struggling.

On Scribble Hub it was very fast. I must have a talent for reading markets. Basically, I can get a feel for if a novel will get more or less readers. It doesn't even require much thinking on my part. Explaining it empirically will be much harder though. Some things are just intuitive.
